With our move just around the corner (see my post about it here!) I decided to do a weekly series called ‘best of dallas‘ where I share what I think are the best restaurants in Dallas, favorite hair salon, places to get your nails done, etc. So, today is my “Best of Dallas // Food” post, where I’m sharing what I think are the best restaurants in Dallas (aka the ones I will miss the most when we move to CO!)

1. Tex-Mex

I know this isn’t a specific restaurant, but if you’ve been following me on social media for more than 24 hours…you know I am THE BIGGEST Tex Mex lover and I will so miss that once we move! My favorite Tex-Mex spots in Dallas are Chuy’s (DUH), Mi Cocina, and this little hole in the wall place by our house called Gabriela & Sofia’s! I also love Mr. Mesero, but it doesn’t get first place in my heart like these other three haha.

2. R&D Kitchen

This has become a favorite date night spot of ours for years now. The menu is simple but EVERYTHING is delicious (we both love the Thai Tuna roll and the Seared Tuna roll!). If you’re not a sushi lover, they also have amazing deviled eggs, a great burger, and really yummy dessert! All of the ingredients taste so fresh and really healthy…yet still filling!

3. The Porch

Another restaurant where you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. It’s a great date night spot, but also a really fun place to go grab drinks or dinner with girlfriends. I love their salmon burger, burrata and toast, and they have really great craft cocktails.

4. Cane Rosso

There are NO words for how much Michael and I both love Cane Rosso! First of all, you should follow them on instagram if you’re not already. Their instagrams are hilarious and always make me crave their pizza! Cane Rosso’s pizza is amazing because the flavors are so incredible and fresh, but you don’t leave just feeling super heavy or gross like pizza can make you feel sometimes. It’s a thin crust pizza but the dough is SO good, and like I said the flavor is out of this world. We get one of their off the menu pizzas called the “honey bastard”, and always get the “lady bird” pizza for dessert, which involves cookie butter, nutella, and crushed cookies…aka MAGIC. They have several locations throughout the Dallas so make sure you go try it out if you haven’t already!

5. Oishii

We first tried this place out back when I was working at Neiman Marcus and a co-worker recommended it to me. It’s now our FAVORITE sushi in Dallas! And I feel like one of Dallas’s best kept secrets. The sushi is so fresh and they have so many really unique rolls. I LOVE the Royce roll, On the Border roll, and the Donut roll! But they always have new off the menu things to try and we’ve loved nearly everything there! ALSO Wednesday is half price bottle of wine night – Michael and I will go for a date night sometimes and split a bottle for like $15!

6. HG Sply Co

Another favorite date night spot of ours. It’s one of the few healthy / clean restaurants that both Michael and I LOVE (obviously it’s not some like crazy strict health place hence the nachos lol). But they use wholesome, healthy, and fresh ingredients and have SUCH an amazing menu. You can create your own bowl by picking your protein, and then the bases to go with it. So, above I have the salmon bowl with a kale salad and brussel sprouts – SO GOOD! But usually Michael and I both get the burger stack bowl which comes with kobe beef burger (so good), bib lettuce, tomato, sweet potato hash, avocado, and an egg on top! It is TO DIE for!

Obviously trying to narrow down the best restaurants in Dallas is no easy task…but these are ones we have frequented time and time again, and will continue to do so when we come back to visit! What Dallas restaurants are you favorites, that you frequent? Would love to hear in the comments below!
