White top | Distressed skinny jeans | Leopard loafers | Tortoise sunnies | Saddle bag | Flower earrings | Watch | Rose gold necklace
Happy Friday! I’m currently in NYC and it is insanely freezing, and I’m dreaming of the 75-degree day I shot this look in Dallas with Rebecca of Beckley Co just last week!
Usually when I style outfits for the blog, I really try and put together things you might not have thought of on your own, or just style things in a new creative way. However, today I wanted to talk to ya’ll about my wardrobe essentials. 90% of the time, I consider myself a bargain shopper. I love H&M, I’m all about a 40% off sale at LOFT, and I’m not yet a designer handbag type of girl. However, the older I get, the more firmly I believe that there are certain things just worth investing in when it comes to your wardrobe. The wardrobe essentials we’ll be discussing today: a good pair of jeans, great flats, and the perfect white button-down.
First thing’s first: a good pair of jeans. I’ve talked about these jeans before, but these are hands down, the best pair of skinny jeans I have ever owned. I wear them on date nights, but also wear them on airplanes when I travel because they are that comfortable. They look great with booties, but also adorable with sandals. I’ve had mine for a few months now, and they haven’t stretched out at all. The rips don’t get “more ripped”, and the fit is super flattering! These jeans aren’t cheap, but in my opinion, they are worth the investment, because you will wear them (or want to wear them) every single day!
Next: these leopard loafers. I was hesitant at first because I’m not a loafer girl, and I’m really not a leopard girl either. But my mind was changed the second I tried them on. A good, quality, comfortable pair of flats is totally in my category of wardrobe essentials, and these loafers are as comfortable as it gets. I wore these all day one day last week when I was running errands at the mall, grocery shopping, picking up dry cleaning, and my feet never got sore. I then went to a nice dinner with Michael and his parents, and could easily pair these with nice black skinny pants. They can be casual or dressy and I love that leopard can be a great neutral!
A great white button down. We all know that a good white button down is necessary…but I’ve never cared to buy one or been excited to buy one. Sure, you might need one for an interview or work things, but that doesn’t make it fun. I love this white top from Anthropologie because it can be super casual with cutoff shorts, but you could also tuck it into a high-waisted trouser for work! You will get so much use out of a great white button down.
