For those of you who didn’t know already, Lauren Scruggs (from LOLOMag.com) and I hosted an event together last Thursday at the dreamiest home store in Dallas, Blue Print! I wanted to recap the event for those of you who weren’t able to attend, and also share a little bit about the store and why we’re so in love with it!
First of all, I was really excited to get to do this event with Lauren! In case you didn’t already know, I actually started off my blogging career writing for LOLO Mag. Lo and I ran the blog together for about a year, until I launched my own website! I absolutely adore her and think she’s one of the most inspiring people I have ever met!
Secondly, Blue Print is seriously the most beautiful store you could ever imagine. They have everything you could ever need for your home – from furniture to art to accessories. The store is in an old refurbished house in uptown, and it’s one that from the moment you walk in…you know it’s going to be dangerous, because you will want EVERYTHING!
I also think this store is really cool because they offer in home consultations and will take on design projects beyond their store walls. So if decorating isn’t your thing, they can help you decorate any space in your house, and the designers who they partner with are the loveliest people!
For this event, Lo and I chatted to the group briefly about upcoming trends we are expecting to see this Fall in fashion, and the designers (Collins Interiors and Jenkins Interiors) talked about design trends we can expect to see this Fall in the home and architecture. For fashion, Lo and I talked about how we’re excited to see more suede and fringe this fall, and trends like cropped flares (I wore them for my date night this weekend here!), and lots of layers.
I’ll be honest…when I first got into this career called blogging, doing events like this really intimidated me. “Will anyone even show up? What if people don’t like me in person?” and so on. I have come to love doing events like this in Dallas though because I think it’s SO fun to get to meet those of you who follow me in person! So often with blogging it can feel like I’m putting content out there or writing these posts, and wondering if anyone ever sees them. So, to meet you guys in person and chat about the blog or what you do or what you like about the blog is SO fun and refreshing! So, thank you so much for those of you who came to the Blue Print event and said hi!
If you’re in Dallas, definitely check out Blue Print! Even if you don’t have a home yet and just want some design inspo…you’ll be sure to find it there!
xo Lauren
