red and blue plaid shirt | distressed black skinny jeans | suede booties (similar here and here) | leather shoulder bag | tortoise sunglasses | leather watch

Call me basic, but the truth is, you can’t make it through fall without the perfect red and blue plaid shirt and black skinny jeans – and these two that I’m sharing with y’all today are as good as they come!

When it comes to plaid shirts, Madewell hands down wins in my book. The quality and fit of their shirts are top notch, and the style is so classic, so you will wear these shirts for years to come. In a world of fast fashion where we’re adding to our wardrobe every season to keep up with trends and getting rid of old stuff, I think it’s so refreshing to find pieces that you know will be in your wardrobe for years to come, because they won’t go out of style.

This red and blue plaid shirt is insanely soft, and I love the oversized fit (I’m wearing the XS). I also tend to shy away from the color red, but I love it in this shirt, and think it is beyond perfect for Fall!

Next to a classic red and blue plaid shirt in order of importance for Fall is a great pair of black skinny jeans. I really struggle finding the perfect pair of distressed black jeans because they are either too distressed, too thin, or too legging-y. I am obsessed with this pair of distressed black skinny jeans, because they are semi high-waisted, super flattering, and SO comfortable, I also love that they have rips at the knees, but they’re not over-the-top in how distressed they are.

How was y’alls weekend this past weekend?! Ready for the week ahead? We were super busy because one of my best friends got MARRIED yesterday! So, bachelorette party Friday, house stuff/errands on Saturday, and then wedding all day Sunday! I don’t know about you but I always love going to weddings. There’s truly nothing better than celebrating love and the greatest commitment you will ever make!

Hope you all feel ready to take on the week and give it 100%!

xo Lauren
