A few of you might remember this camel coat I posted on instagram a few weeks back! I loved it so much I had to share with y’all before the blog post. The color is gorgeous, I love the semi-boyfriend look to it, and it’s the perfect weight for moderate winters like we have in Dallas!
I always love trench coats on other people, but never love them on myself because I felt like they were a little too “new york” for me, and that I wouldn’t get much use out of it. I love that this gorgeous camel coat can be worn SO many different ways though. I wore it really casual with jeans and booties, but it could also be the perfect “wear to work” coat, or even for fall/winter weddings!
Outfit details: Camel coat (similar here) | White v-neck sweater | Similar suede booties here and here | Mini crossbody bag here and here | Dark denim | Grey hat (also love this one) | Long beaded necklace | Power stone adjustable Y-necklace | Black sunglasses
Also, seeing as it’s the start of a new year, I’ve definitely had New Year’s resolutions on my mind. Do you guys make resolutions? I do every single year! I always write them down in my journal and I love to look back and see how I did at the end of the year.
This year, I have a few things in mind for New Year’s resolutions…such as, cook at home more, incorporate more weight training into my fitness routine, be more organized with work stuff and the blog…I’ll probably do another post at a later time with these types of resolutions. Because even though I have a few of those on my list…more than anything this year, I long to love Jesus more, and walk with Him more closely.
Because even if I get to the end of 2017 and I can check off my cooking goal or my fitness goal or whatever it is…if I don’t love Jesus more then than I do now…what good will that do me?
As cheesy or cliche as this may sound, my number one goal this year, my number one new year’s resolutions is to walk with and love Jesus more intimately than I ever have. Yes, I have other goals or ideas in my mind, but this one is key. This one matters more than anything and I long to strive towards that goal every day.
Being a blogger and working from home gives me tons of flexibility, which I love. But it’s made spending time in the Word a little more difficult because if I don’t do it first thing in the morning, I’ll tell myself “oh I can do it after flywheel, or after my meeting.” But that rarely happens. I want to make my time with the Lord my top priority each day! Even if it means my blog post gets published an hour later or I don’t get to workout that day. Because how do you fall in love with someone more and more? By spending time with them, talking to them, and listening.
So, stay tuned for my more “tangible” resolutions that I’ll share soon! But, I wanted to share this one with y’all first because it’s first in my heart and I think the most important thing I can do this year.
