One of my favorite parts about my job is getting to hear from you guys. I LOVE getting feedback from y’all – whether that’s an encouraging message, or a specific request. One of the questions I get MOST from you guys is about my Apple Watch. So, today I wanted to do an Apple Watch review for you guys and answer any and all of the questions I’ve gotten about it!
I’ve had my Apple Watch (I have the 38mm series one Apple Watch in rose gold) for over a year and a half now and absolutely love it. Someone recently asked me when they saw my watch “accessory or necessity?” and I quickly answered: necessity!
The main thing I use my watch for is fitness. There is a built in fitness tracker into the Apple Watch (I do not use any outside fitness apps on the watch), that I use to track my runs, stair master work outs, spin classes, weight training, yoga, walks with Beau, hikes, and any other fitness activity.
The (second series) Apple Watch has a built in GPS, so it can track your distance on runs – in addition to your pace, heart rate, and calories burned. (I have the series 1 Apple Watch which does not have a GPS, but it can still track your distance on runs, if you carry your phone with you. I always carry my phone with me when I run anyway so that wasn’t a big deal for me). Any workout you do, the Apple Watch will track your heart rate, and therefore track your calories burned.
Another reason I love my Apple Watch is because it syncs with your phone. So, when I get a text message on my phone, my watch buzzes and I can see/read/reply to the text on my watch. This is nice when I’m curling my hair in the bathroom, and my phone is in my bedroom. I don’t always reply to text messages on my watch, but it’s nice to be able to view them instantly…just in case it is something super important. Also when my phone rings, my watch buzzes and tells me who is calling. So, if I don’t have my phone with me right then, I don’t have to run to go find my phone and see who’s calling or if it’s important.
There are TONS of apps and stuff you can get on your Apple Watch. Technically, you can read/answer e-mails on your watch, scroll through Instagram, order a dominoes pizza (lol), and so many other things. I honestly don’t use many apps on the Apple Watch (and no way am I going to read e-mails on that tiny screen haha). I’d say the only apps I use on the watch (other than the fitness app), are the weather app, calendar, and reminders (but, all of those are built-in).
One of the most frequently asked questions I get about my Apple Watch is about my straps! I have 3 different sports bands – they are all the same band, just different colors. I have the indigo band, the pink sand, and the lilac. So, I wear these everyday and definitely for working out. For my birthday, Michael’s mom got me the Hermes leather strap that I LOVE. I wear this strap if I’m not actually wearing workout clothes which is rare haha! All of these straps can be purchased at the Apple Store!
I think that sums up the jist of the questions I’ve gotten about my Apple Watch! Overall, I would 100% recommend it to ANYONE. Michael and I both have one, my siblings do, my mom does, Michael’s mom does…it’s great for fitness, but so many other things as well. I didn’t think my mom would actually like it, but she wears hers constantly and loves it!

Have a great Monday!
