All About the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2017

Y’all, it’s the most wonderful time of the year. Okay, so maybe it’s not Christmas, but it’s basically like Christmas in the summer—it’s the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! I look forward to this sale every year and I’m so excited to start sharing about it today. In preparation for this amazing shopping event, I wanted to go over everything you need to know about it and why it’s simply one of the best!

What is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and why is it so special?

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is their biggest sale of the year where they offer great discounts on new merchandise. Normally big sale events mean a retailer is trying to get rid of older product, but with Nordstrom Anniversary sale, they’re actually giving you access to new items at a discounted price! It’s seriously incredible. It’s a great time to stock up on must-have items for the fall or buy pieces by top designers (Rebecca Minkoff, etc) at a discounted price. I honestly can’t stress enough how incredible and unique this sale is! You definitely won’t want to miss out!

So when can I start shopping?

This year the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is taking place from July 21^st – August 6^th. However, Nordstrom card holders (debit or credit) get to have early access to the sale and can start their shopping July 13^th. Honestly, early access is the way to go because so many top sellers, like AG jeans, go fast. I’m a Nordstrom cardholder and I seriously can’t recommend it enough. The sale will open to the public on July 21^st and prices will go back up on August 7^th.

July 13th: Early Access begins for all Nordstrom cardholders

July 17th: The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale opens to the public

August 6th: Last day of the sale and prices go up on the 7th

Is the sale only online?

No, you can shop both in store and online! I usually do most of my shopping online (the stores get crazy during the sale!) but this year I will probably be doing at least one Nordstrom run to try on a few things. The in-store pick up option is also amazing! Regardless of how you shop, I highly recommend making some sort of game plan before you start shopping. Look around your wardrobe, browse the catalog, and figure out exactly what it is you need to shop for. I share a little bit of my shopping list below and I’ll keep sharing my favorites throughout the sale!

How can I become a Nordstrom cardholder and get early access to the sale?

You can sign up to become a cardholder here. Becoming a cardholder is very easy and has tons of perks in addition to getting early access to the anniversary sale. You can get approved to be a cardholder by July 9^th – just in time for early access! I’ve been a Nordstrom cardholder for years and I can’t rave about it enough – I definitely recommend it!

How can I find out what’s going to be on sale?

Nordstrom recently released their catalog which gives you a preview of everything included in the sale. I recommend looking over the catalog now to try and plan out what’s on your shopping list. There is seriously SO much included in the sale, that if you wait until it starts to figure out what you want, it may be a little overwhelming.

What are you personally excited about shopping on this sale?

Where do I even begin?! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is when I love to load up on great staple pieces for the fall – boots and booties, quality denim, designer handbags, cardigans, etc. I’m even more excited to shop for colder weather things now that we’re living in Boulder (cute clothes will totally help me endure the crazy temperature drops, right?). I’m always looking for great jeans, so I’m hoping to add some AG jeans to my closet. They’re comfortable, flattering, and this is one of the few times they’re on sale! I know I will need more boots and booties for this fall/winter in Boulder, so I’m hoping to grab some by Vince Camuto or UGG! Also saw some really good cardigans in the catalog that I’m excited about (Leith, Topshop, Madewell, BP all look adorable). Trust me, these will go fast! Is it July 13th yet?!
