travel style: comfort meets cute!

With all the trips Michael and I have taken on this past year…I’ve come to realize how important your travel stye is! Picking out my ‘airport outfit’ is one of my favorite parts about packing believe it or not – I feel like I’ve got it down to a science now! Finding the perfect airport #ootd though is not easy. You want to be comfortable, but I’m personally not a fan of wearing sweatpants on an airplane. So today I’m going to share my strategy in finding the perfect travel style!

I always start with jeans (or bottoms) first. I’m sure y’all know already but, not all jeans are created equal in the comfort department. This pair I’m wearing here is seriously comfortable enough to sleep in! They are also high-waisted and super flattering. I’m going to Europe next month and will more than likely be wearing these on the plane because they are THAT comfortable. A few other pairs of jeans I own that I’d choose to travel in!:

The next thing I go-to when picking out my travel outfit is shoes. I am on a MAJOR athleisure / sneaker kick lately aka sneakers with everything! Jeans, dresses, shorts, etc. When you’re traveling, you want a pair of shoes that’s comfortable because you’ll be walking alot, but they also need to be easy to get on and off (if you don’t have TSA and need to take your shoes off through security). On top of that…you of course want them to be stylish!

TBH when I first saw this blush pink pair online, I thought they were SO cute but was pretty intimidated by them. But I loved the color and the price was good so I thought “what the heck”. I have been SO surprised at how cute they look with everything! I obviously love them with these crop flare jeans, but they also look great with skinny jeans, and t-shirt dresses!

Another essential in finding the perfect travel style is the bag you take with you. Everyone travels differently but I must have some kind of tote with me on the plane, as my personal item. I keep my laptop, makeup bag, iPad mini, noise canceling headphones, and of course…snacks, all in the tote. I LOVE this tote pictured above for a few reasons. The size is perfect and I love that it also has an outside compartment. I also like that it’s a bag you could carry everyday on whatever trip you’re going on! I carry this medium sized tote as a purse ALL the time (and truth be told: I loved it so much I have it in 3 colors!)

Whenever I’m shopping for the perfect travel style look…Nordstrom is always my go-to. They carry brands that can work for any budget, and I love that it’s my one stop shop when shopping for travel. I get my jeans here, shoes, bag, accessories, beauty products…literally everything!

Below we’ve rounded up some of my favorite ‘travel style’ pieces to make it easy for out to put some outfits together! You can click any of the images to shop!

Hope this post helps picking out your next airport outfit somewhat simpler, and also makes you more comfortable for your travel day! Thanks for reading!
