We are almost two weeks into 2018 – how are your new year’s resolutions going? TBH – this year I didn’t make any extreme goals for my health / fitness. Don’t get me wrong – I have goals and aspirations, but honestly I get pretty annoyed when I hear people’s goals for 2018 in regards to health/fitness – because most of the time they are SO extreme and pretty unrealistic IMO. I greatly value health and fitness (as y’all know), but am a firm believer in life being all about balance and moderation, and extremes just don’t work for me (extremes being: no carbs, no sugar, no ___”. I pretty much don’t say no to anything when it comes to food! It’s more about moderation.
All that to say…there are certain habits I’ve incorporated into my health / fitness regime that I think are key to leading a healthy lifestyle. These habits are not extreme, super easy to incorporate into your everyday life, and actually make a huge difference in your overall health and wellness! These are habits I began prioritizing within the last year or two and will continue throughout my life I think!
Healthy Habit #1: Collagen
I did an entire blog post (here) about the benefits of collagen, so I won’t go into too much detail here about the benefits. BUT, I started taking this collagen about 9 months ago and have seen the biggest difference in the health of my hair, my skin, and my joints! My recovery time has been less between workouts, and the girls who do my hair in Dallas said they have never seen it healthier. I put a scoop in my coffee every single morning, and will also put another scoop in my post workout protein smoothies.
Start incorporating collagen into your daily routine in 2018 and I promise you’ll love it as much as I do.
Healthy habit #2: Water
This sounds SO simple, I know. But we all know that drinking water is so essential for our health. Staying hydrated will do wonders for your skin, keep you feeling full, help with digestion, help with workouts, and so much more. This year I got my first hydro flask water bottle and it made drinking water so much easier! I love the straw cap, and your water stays cold in here forever. I make it a goal for myself to drink 3 of these water bottles everyday. When I do, I can tell a huge difference in my skin, my appetite, and overall energy. Healthy Habit #3: Probiotic
I’ve heard for years how essential probiotics are for digestive health and just overall wellness, so I finally decided to incorporate one into my everyday routine this past year.
