Hey guys! Today I wanted to share a quick 20 week bumpdate with y’all (I’m actually closer to 21 weeks now but 20 is such a nice even number haha). I like the idea of continuing to share these bumpdates maybe every 4 weeks throughout my pregnancy!
So overall, I’ve still been feeling great and I’m so thankful for that! My stomach still kind of consistently hurts and I’ve had some round ligament pain…but nothing too bad at all. Oh, and digestion issues are still there for sure.
I started taking these prenatal vitamins and really like them. Disclaimer: they don’t taste great haha but I legit hate swallowing pills so I like that these are gummy. Not only are they gummy but I love that they have DHA and iron. And I’m willing to sacrifice taste because these are the cleanest gummy vitamin label on the market, made with organic ingredients, and pectin based. They don’t taste awful by any means, but, don’t expect candy haha.
I’ve also started pinning ideas for baby girl’s nursery which has been a blast! I can’t wait to share with y’all some of the things I have in mind. I’ve loved looking at Lulu & Georgia, Pottery Barn Baby, RH Baby, and Caitlin Wilson Design for inspo. But in all reality I feel like I’ve looked anywhere and everywhere. Mommas reading this – where did you like shopping for nursery furniture and decor?! It’s kind of overwhelming but also really exciting!
I’ve also started to slowly but surely register for a few things! I’ve been asking friends and family for recs and also had the most helpful phone call ever with Gugu Guru and they made some amazing recommendations! So far we’ve actually already gotten our stroller main stroller (this one), jogging stroller, and car seat! I’ve heard amazing things about all 3 of these products and can’t wait to try them out. Right now what I’m kind of hung up on is bouncy seats! Do y’all have any recs or faves?! I’m currently looking at the Nuna Leaf and Bloom Coco. Let me know if you have any you’ve loved!
I’ve still been pretty consistent with my workouts! My workout routine is a mixture of the following:
- Run 5-6 miles 2-3 days a week (typically followed by a core or upper body workout)
- Take a class at The Dailey Method 1-2 days a week (get your first class 75% off with code LAUREN. they have classes all over the US!). Obsessed with these classes!
- Flywheel sports class on my flyanywhere bike 1 or 2 days a week
- I just downloaded / started doing a fitness program called Expecting and Empowered! They have workouts to get you through weeks 4-40 of pregnancy. They’re all pregnancy safe + help prepare you for labor! I try to do these workouts at least 2 days a week!
- 45 mins on the stairmaster followed by a core or upper body workout
My workout routine each week will consist of a mixture of anything I listed above! I typically workout 5 days a week, sometimes 6. I’ve also been loving just taking Beau for walks in the evenings or going for a hike with Michael. I feel really lucky that I’ve felt good enough during my pregnancy to workout. But, I also think that’s partially why I’ve felt so great. My energy has been up, my appetite has been normal..and I think being active plays a big part in that.
We had our 20 week appointment on Monday where they do the anatomy scan / ultrasound and it was SO AMAZING. I had been counting down the days to that appointment for a long time and it exceeded all of my expectations. I loved getting to see our baby girl and wish we could see her everyday! They said everything looks great and healthy and her size is exactly where it needs to be. So thankful for that!
Something I’ve learned over these past few weeks: comparison is the thief of joy. We’ve all heard that quote a million times and let me tell you, it 100% still applies to pregnancy! Especially in this day & age of social media and knowing what everyone else is up to at all times…it is so hard not to compare. “Why does she already have a bump and I’m still not showing?” “Why have I not felt the baby move yet but she felt her baby at 18 weeks?!” etc etc. And this comparison game will 100% take the joy out of your pregnancy! Every pregnancy is so different and you can’t let yourself compare to what other women are experiencing. The truth of the matter is: the Lord has blessed us with a healthy baby girl who is growing and developing inside of me right now. That in and of itself is and will always be the greatest reason to celebrate and live with such gratitude!
