how to keep your hair fresh between washes!

Happy Monday, friends! Hope y’all enjoyed your weekend. I don’t know about you, but having the holiday in the middle of the week last week threw me off, so I’m excited for a fresh start! So speaking of fresh starts, today I want to share one of my haircare secrets with y’all. As you guys know, I really love staying active and usually do some sort of workout (running, HIIT, spin, etc) at least 5-6 days a week. And while I absolutely love living a healthy lifestyle, there’s one thing I don’t necessarily love: trying to keep my hair clean in the midst of all that. (FYI: I’m not one of those “I don’t sweat, I glisten” types of girls. Nope, I definitely work up a good sweat!). But y’all, I refuse to wash my hair everyday. Not only does that strip your hair of its natural oils, but it can also take up a lot of time that you could be spending working, taking care of your family, etc! Not to mention, blow drying my hair can make me irritable and is hands down my least favorite part of getting ready. So with that in mind, I wanted to share with y’all today my trick for keeping my hair refreshed and clean between washes!

I get questions all the time about my hair and how I can style it without washing it after working out. Well, seriously you guys, the trick is to truly invest in a quality shampoo + conditioner combo. I’ve tried lots of different hair products, and I can honestly say I’m very picky about which ones I use. Since I workout a lot and am prone to oily hair, I need a shampoo + conditioner that will not only thoroughly (but gently!) clean my hair, but will also keep my hair looking fresh for several days. Can you see why I’m so picky?! Ha but seriously, your shampoo and conditioner makes the biggest difference!

Do y’all know there are major benefits to using a shampoo and conditioner that has charcoal in the ingredients?  A girlfriend was telling me about it, so I started to do some research on its benefits, uses, etc. I already love some charcoal face masks, but wanted to look into haircare options too. Well, I recently tried the new Pantene Charcoal Collection Shampoo and Conditioner and oh my gosh, talk about a game-changer. I love that the shampoo doesn’t have any parabens and that it helps prevent your hair from getting oily in the days to come. So basically, it keeps working even after you’re done shampooing and showering. It’s so gentle and the charcoal can actually purify your hair by absorbing any dirt or impurities. And then the conditioner restores so much hydration to your hair, doesn’t have any silicones, and is easy to rinse out! So you’re not spending extra time in the shower wondering, ‘did I get it all out?’

Since I started using this shampoo and conditioner, I’ve definitely noticed that my hair stays fresher and cleaner between washes. I also love that it isn’t heavy on your hair, so you can still get some good volume after using it. This shampoo and conditioner also work well on a variety of hair types and textures, so we will probably start keeping some in the guest bathroom! Plus, it smells amazing but isn’t too intense, which makes this prego very happy haha!

So if you’re looking for a way to go longer between washes without sacrificing how your hair looks, I definitely recommend trying the Pantene Charcoal Shampoo and Conditioner. Right now there’s also a special going on at Target (my fave!) where if you buy two products from the Charcoal Collection, you get a $5 gift card! So next time you’re making a Target run, be sure to check it out!
