Happy Friday friends! I’m so excited about today’s post because I’m sharing several hair products that I have been using for years and that I think are truly worth every penny and all the hype. I get questions all the time about what hair products I use, how I style my shorter hair, etc., so I’m hoping today’s post helps answer that question. I’m also excited for today’s post because a huge part of my job is researching and testing out products, with the goal of finding the ones I truly believe in and feel confident recommending to y’all. So, all of the hair products in today’s post are ones that I think absolutely live up to the hype and have become must-have’s for me. Speaking of hype, y’all have probably heard all about the Dyson hair dryer (and its splurge of a price tag), so today I’m reviewing that as well and giving you the full breakdown of why I LOVE it. Plus, I’m sharing how you get all of these products (and tons of other beauty faves!) at a discount.

It feels like every week (or day) there’s a new “must-have hair product” on the market that everyone is raving about. I think it can be a little overwhelming at times and hard to discern which ones are legit, and totally live up to the hype. Plus, there’s nothing worse than buying something that everyone says is the best, only to be super disappointed and have buyer’s remorse. As a blogger, I have the opportunity to try out a lot of different products and, if I absolutely love them, share those products with y’all. So today I’m rounding up the hair products + tools that actually do what they say they will and 100% live up to the hype/buzz surrounding them.

So first! Let me spill all the details about the Dyson hair dryer with y’all. Before I do that though I thought I should throw out the fact that I got this hair dryer for a less expensive price than you can find it anywhere else, since I got it on eBay! And it arrived quickly, in absolutely perfect condition.
Let’s face it: this is probably more money than you ever imagined spending on a hair dryer. So, if you’re not familiar with the Dyson I’ll quickly explain the method behind this mad price tag! The motor in this hair dryer has the power to dry your hair FAST without using extreme heat – meaning, little to no damage on your hair. That’s nearly unheard of with blow dryers. This blow dryer also has TONS of features on it that i’ve never seen another blow dryer have. It has 4 precise heat settings, so you can choose from: 212°F fast drying and styling, 176°F regular drying, 140°F gentle drying or Constant cold.
The biggest differences I noticed in using this Dyson hair dryer is #1: this dried my hair SO FAST. Honestly, this is one of the main reasons why I wanted to try this blow dryer out. This is amazing for anyone with really thick or really long hair (or in my case, anyone who just wants to cut their drying time in half). I also noticed how amazingly smooth and styled my hair looked after blow drying – before I ever even styled it with a curling iron or flat iron. The Dyson comes with a smoothing nozzle so you you can dry and style your hair at the same time with gentle, low-velocity airflow.
My personal opinion, if you’re going to spend this much on a blow dryer, definitely ‘lessen the blow’ if you can (pun intended lol) and get it for less on eBay! I know this blow dryer might still be a splurge but it honestly is AMAZING and hands down the best blow dryer I have ever used! Your hair will also thank you in the long run for saving it from tons of damage. One of my favorite things about the blow dryer is I didn’t feel the need to style my hair afterwards because it was already SO smooth and styled-looking!

Now, onto some of my go-to hair products that are 100% worth the hype as well! If you’ve been following me on instagram or reading the blog for any amount of time, you know I am a loyal Oribe girl. I have yet to be disappointed by their products and honestly I use them on a daily basis. No matter what your hair type or concerns, they have a product for you. So here are a few of my favorites:
- Oribe Texturizing Spray: You’ve probably seen tons of bloggers post about this stuff and I can assure you it’s as amazing as everyone says it is. I use this after I curl my hair to give it a more textured look. It’s truly the secret to getting those loose, undone waves that everyone wants. A little goes a long way and it smells AMAZING. It’s also great for giving freshly washed hair a little more texture and tons of volume, and it honestly lasts for so long!
- Oribe Gold Lust Shampoo: I’ve been using this shampoo for years and it has honestly saved my hair. If you color your hair or frequently apply heat to it, or even if your hair is just prone to dryness/breakage, this shampoo is 100% a must-have. It protects your hair from damage and helps restore hair to have a more healthy, youthful shine + appearance. It’s seriously the most moisturizing shampoo, so I’ve grown to love it even more since moving to a dry mountain climate.
- Oribe Gold Lust Nourishing Hair Oil: This is a more recent addition to my haircare routine, but it has quickly become a favorite. Seriously, it’s a total game changer! I’ll apply this when my hair is damp before styling, and it works really well as a heat protectant. FYI: anytime you’re going to apply heat to your hair, you definitely need to use a heat protectant. It helps prevent damage and breakage without being overly heavy or minimizing volume. I’ve tried several hair oils in the past and this is the only one that I notice a considerable difference AND it doesn’t leave my hair oily or weighed down at all. It reduces frizz big time and also cuts down on your dry time. I could go on about it forever haha but seriously, it’s incredible!
- Oribe Volumista Spray: If you’re needing any help in the volume department, this spray is a total miracle worker. I especially love it now that the temperatures are getting colder and the dry air leaves my hair super flat. You just lightly spray it to your roots and ends before blow dragon your hair and it gives you the most amazing, natural volume. It smells so good and doesn’t leave your hair sticky like some other volumizing products do.
Another staple in my haircare routine is good dry shampoo. Y’all, there are so many out there and I’ve found it’s difficult to find one that truly cleans your hair and doesn’t leave it feeling dry as straw. Living Proof Dry Shampoo is hands down my favorite and I can’t recommend it enough. It actually cleans your hair and doesn’t leave any visible residue (even on the darkest hair!). It removes all odor and sweat/oil, so your hair actually looks and smells like you just washed it. I’ve tried countless dry shampoos and this is the one that I keep coming back to.
Over the last year, I’ve started buying more and more things from eBay. Not only is eBay easy to shop, but they honestly sell everything and have so many amazing discounts. Fun fact: 81% of the items sold on eBay are new and available with the “Buy It Now” option (ie, no bidding). They carry so many of my favorite beauty brands + products, including all the products I mentioned today. As we all know, hair and beauty items aren’t always cheap (but so worth investing in), so it’s nice to be able to have somewhere to buy them at a discount. I’ve been shopping eBay for a while now and have been so happy with the products and deals I’ve found!
