Happy Monday friends! I hope y’all had a great weekend. Whether you’ve been following me for a while or are new around here, you know that when it comes to style, I love good basics. These are the pieces that are truly the building blocks of a good wardrobe and that you can style so many different ways. With it now being March, I figured today would be the perfect opportunity to talk about great spring basics + what pieces will be some of my staples for the season.
At the start of a new season, I get SO excited about changing up my wardrobe and seeing what new styles are coming out. Especially living in Boulder where it feels like winter lasts forever, I always look forward to warmer weather and all the fun clothes that go with it. I’ll be honest, it’s still cold in Boulder right now and def not time for sun dresses and sandals, but I’ve already started eyeing some faves for when the warmer weather hits! For these photos, I wanted to put together an outfit that I feel like covers a few must-have spring basics. A flattering white top is definitely a must-have for spring. I love this short sleeve one because it’s structured, but not stiff, and you can seriously wear it a million different ways. I love how it looks with jeans (like I wore for these photos), but it also looks adorable with denim shorts and sandals or tucked into a colorful high-waisted skirt with wedges. This top is under $40 and also comes in several other colors (definitely snagging it in another color asap!). It also has the most adorable button detailing on the back. It’s such a cute, modern twist on a traditional white shirt! Every spring wardrobe needs a good white shirt, so I rounded up a few of my favorites for y’all!
Another must-have spring basic is good denim. Y’all probably know by now I have a major weakness for quality denim, but that’s because it’s honestly the piece of clothing I wear more than anything else! For the fall, I usually wear a lot of black jeans and darker wash denim. When the temperatures start warming up for spring, I love finding a lighter wash. This pair of high-waisted skinny jeans are flattering and are the perfect color for spring + summer – I’m completely obsessed! Honestly, I feel like it can be really hard to find light wash jeans that are flattering and don’t look cheap, but this pair is amazing! They have a subtle crop to them too, which I think is such a fun detail for spring! I also wanted to share a few favorite spring accessories, like these leather flats + this crossbody handbag. These are two pieces I know I will want to wear pretty much every day during the spring and summer. These flats are unbelievably comfortable because the soft leather pretty much molds to fit your foot perfectly. I also love the sandal version for warmer days! Michael got me this crossbody recently and I think I’ve used it every day since. It’s the perfect nude blush color for spring, holds a lot of stuff, and is such high quality – I know I’ll be wearing it for years!
