an oldie but a goodie [skincare edition]

Ya know the first time you make a “big girl purchase”? (Please tell me I’m not the only one who uses that phrase lol) For example, the first time you invest in a nice bag or upgrade your denim for a new, more splurge-worthy pair. It just feels so grown up and like a rite of passage! Today I wanted to share a skincare brand I have legit been using and loving for years. It’s one of those brands that’s so nostalgic and special to me, because I think of it as my first “grown up” skincare routine. It really was the beginning of when I started to really care about and research skincare products. I thought it would be fun to highlight a few products today because to only are they effective, but they’re also really reasonably priced!

I first started using Kiehl’s products several years ago and honestly my obsession started with the midnight recovery concentrate. That was pretty much my first time to dip my toe into the world of quality skincare, and I was SO blown away. It truly made a tremendous difference in my skin! The midnight recovery concentrate is an overnight serum that you put on at the end of your skincare routine and you wake up with more radiant, rejuvenated skin. Y’all it feels SO good and the smell is amazing, too. It seriously makes you feel like you’ve just had a day at the spa. You can use it in combination with a moisturizer, but it’s also super hydrating so you don’t have to. Kiehl’s also has an amazing moisturizer called the ultra facial cream and I love the product too! It’s under $20 and delivers insane hydration, which is key for keeping skin looking youthful and healthy.

I recently tried out the Kiehl’s calendula foaming face wash, too. One thing I love about Kiehl’s products is their ingredients. Obviously from the name of the product, you can tell that a key ingredient in this face wash is the calendula flower. This natural ingredient allows for a super gentle cleanser that’s always extremely effective at removing any excess oil and grime. It also gives it the most beautiful subtle floral scent, which I love! This product was new to me and I really liked it. I feel like it’s such a good price and such a great gentle cleanser that would work well on any skin type!

Okay now this creamy eye treatment with avocado is unreal. I feel like a lot of eye creams are greasy or difficult for that sensitive skin around your eyes to absorb. This eye cream is SO moisturizing and is majorly nourishes your skin. I also like that it’s easy for your skin to absorb, so you don’t have to worry about it just sitting on top of your skin or sliding around at all. I used to not really understand the importance of eye creams or why that was even a part of a skincare routine. But y’all, it’s such a gam changer! The skin around your eyes is so much more sensitive than any other part of your face, so it’s really prone to damage and is usually the first to show signs of aging. I strongly recommend adding an eye cream to your skincare regimen if you haven’t already. This cream eye treatment from Kiehl’s is $30 and such a good product!

The last product I wanted to highlight is this line-reducing concentrate serum. This is another skincare routine staple. Truly, everyone needs to be using a vitamin c serum for SO many reasons. It’s one of the best ways to deliver all day protection and truly rejuvenate your skin. This serum is formulated with 10.5% pure vitamin C along with an additional 2% of Vitamin Cg. Basically, it’s like the ultimate skincare duo. Those vitamins are absorbed into your skin to both rebuild the skin’s surface as well as eliminate any lines. Another amazing skincare ingredient is the hyaluronic acid. This not only provides deep hydration to your face, but it also helps smooth + even your skin. Y’all, even if forehead lines and wrinkles aren’t on your radar, trust me – you need to be taking preventative measures. I highly recommend this serum as it will help with both anti-aging and just overall smoothing of the skin/texture.

I can honestly say Kiehl’s products will always have a special place in my heart. I always find myself going back to them and even Michael loves their stuff too. (their body wash + lotion is SO good is literally all we use!). Kiehl’s truly kickstarted my “grown up” skincare routine and really showed me how passionate I am about finding good products for my skin. I just wanted to share some Kiehl’s products that I’ve been using for years and ones that I’ve only just started using this summer, to hopefully help you in building your own “grown up” skincare regimen. I personally get all of my Kiehl’s products from Nordstrom (yay free shipping!), and it’s so easy to stock up anytime I need to! I love that Kiehl’s is just as passionate about creatine quality products, and that they’re determined to do so at such a budget-friendly price point.
