About a 4 years ago, I put a pair of golden goose sneakers on my wishlist, but felt like I could never justify a pair of sneakers that cost anywhere between $400 and $500 (especially because they already come looking “dirty”.) But, I loved how they looked and how they could go with so many different outfits. So, after crushing hard on them for almost a year, I decided to pull the trigger and been a big fan ever since. I ordered my first pair online and decided if I didn’t absolutely LOVE them then I would return. Clearly, I fell in love! So today I want share my honest golden goose sneaker review with y’all – why I love them and think they’re worth the money, sizing, and more!
First, I’ll tell y’all why golden goose sneakers have been worth the money (for me). I love that these are shoes you can wear year round, no matter how hot or cold it is, and no matter where you live. I have worn these shoes in both summer and winter now and love them for BOTH. If you’re going to spend $500 on a pair of sneakers, you better be able to wear them year round and you definitely can with golden goose!
For my first pair of golden goose sneakers, I decided I wanted to get a neutral pair – no crazy colors, because I wanted them to go with everything. This is the second reason why I think golden goose sneakers are worth the money. They literally go with EVERYTHING. I wear them with blue jeans, white jeans, black jeans…denim shorts, dresses, joggers and they look SO cute with every single outfit. I think they add an instant “cool” element to any outfit. They are great for traveling because you can throw them in your suitcase and know they’ll pair with any outfit you packed.

The next reason I think golden goose sneakers are worth the money is because they are so insanely comfortable. I didn’t even have to break mine in – from day 1 they felt amazing. As you can see in these photos, I wear mine when we’re traveling, running to playdates, shopping etc because these are days I know I’ll be on my feet a ton and I want to be comfortable. I wore them on a trip to NYC for 8ish hours a day and my feet NEVER hurt or got any blisters. I’ve never found a shoe SO comfortable that you can literally wear it all day long and never get sore feet or blisters. You can’t put a price tag on that y’all! If you have a job where you’re on your feet all the time or if you’re going on a trip with tons of walking, the golden goose sneaker will be your best friend.
I get asked all the time about what socks to wear with golden goose sneakers. This is another reason why I love them – you don’t have to wear socks with them! I’ve never worn socks with mine, even on days where I’m wearing them ALL day, and my feet have never sweat or gotten uncomfortable! I think the shoe must just breathe really well. I honestly have no idea why haha other than the shoe is magical and you don’t have to wear socks with them (that’s been my experience at least).
Another thing I love about the golden goose sneakers is you don’t have to stress about keeping them perfect looking, since they kind of come with that “worn” look already. At first I thought that was so dumb – why would you pay over $400 for a shoe that already looks dirty? But I actually LOVE that about them. I’ve worn these when it was raining/gross outside and my shoes still look perfect. Usually when you spend that amount of money on shoes, you WON’T wear them in the rain or you’re always stressing about keeping them pristine, and you don’t have to worry about that with the golden goose sneaker! As you continue to wear them over the years, they’ll get more of a lived in / worn look which only makes them cuter IMO.
sizing info
For sizing – I find them to run true to size. I wear a size 8 and bought the size 38 and they fit perfect. If you are in between sizes though (like, sometimes a 7.5 and sometimes an 8), I would suggest going down a size. But, if you are like me and always a size 8 (or whatever your size is), I think they run true to size.
if you’re unsure where to get them or if you want them, i’d recommend shopping at ssense, nordstrom or shopbop b/c of their great return policy!
So, yes, this is A LOT of money to spend on a pair of sneakers. I thought it was insane before I bought mine. But, I’ve worn mine probably 100+ times in the 6 months I’ve owned them and have zero regrets in purchasing! They have become a closet staple for me, and if you’ve been on the fence as to whether or not they’re worth it…I think they are worth EVERY penny!
