A few weeks ago I did a blog post on the importance of reflecting on 2019 before setting goals for the new year. Whenever Michael and I had to cancel our trip to Hawaii, I had some unexpected downtime and took this time to reflect on 2019. It was truly such an amazing and blessed year and I am so thankful. But as I reflected, I kind of realized a lot things I’d like to change for the upcoming year, and certain areas of my life that have gotten out of balance. As I reflected on 2019, I felt very thankful for an amazing year but to be honest…the year kind of felt like a blur. So many trips, tons of blog partnerships (which is a great thing but also means a lot of work), not a lot of sleep, not a lot of rest, coupled with some pretty significant health issues. Over the last week or so, I’ve really felt the Lord speaking to me about making some significant life changes in 2020. It’s a new decade, I’m turning 30 this year…and I feel like He’s calling me to turn the corner this year, in a lot of areas.
Maybe you make new year’s resolutions every year, and maybe that’s not your cup of tea. BUT, there’s just something about a new decade I’m feeling really pumped about! I’ve been seeing a lot of people making a “20 for 2020 list” and I 100% jumped on board with that. I’ve actually already made my list! I wanted to encourage you guys to do the same! In previous years, I’ve waited until early January to make my resolutions which is totally fine. But, I’m actually really excited that I’ve already made my list for 2020! I made a list of 20 things – this can be anything. I included places I want to go, goals I’m setting for myself like – run another marathon, cook 1 new recipe a week, do a successful whole30, read a book a month, etc. As well as other goals that are more “lifestyle change” like don’t sleep with my phone in the room, etc. You can put ANYTHING on your list – places you want to go, lifestyle changes, goals, etc!
Before you start on your 20 for 2020 list though…I encourage you to spend some time praying and reflecting over the past year. What did you love about this past year? What areas seemed off-balance to you? What caused you anxiety? How well did you treat your body? Like I said, for me personally, after spending time evaluating 2019…I was clearly able to see some changes that needed to happen. And tbh, I’m really excited about these changes! But I wouldn’t have been able to make such a cohesive and detailed list for 2020 without first evaluating the previous year…so spend one morning over this holiday season doing that!
I don’t know about y’all…but I am pumped for this new year. I think my own personal life is going to see a lot of changes, I have tons of new ideas for my blog and content I want to share with you guys to hopefully add value to your life, it’s a new decade, I’m turning 30…I think it’s going to be an incredible year and I’m excited to experience and share it all with you guys!
As I go into the new year, I’m wanting to continue to be really smart about the partnerships I say yes to. One partnership I had throughout 2019 that I hope to continue in 2020 is my partnership with Kendra Scott! I absolutely love partnering with brands that I already love and wear every single day and Kendra Scott is 100% one of those brands for me. I am absolutely swooning over her winter collection and rounded up some of my favorite pieces from the collection below!

I might do another blog post here in the next few weeks about what’s on my “20 for 2020” list or share more details on the changes I’m personally making for 2020… but for today, while we all have a lot of down time over the next week or two, I just wanted to encourage you guys to make your own “20 for 2020” list! Let’s go into this new year with a game plan and goals to work towards. It’s a new decade y’all and I 100% believe that God has incredible plans in store for each and every one of us in this new year!
Thanks for reading!
