Michael got me these On Cloud X running shoes for Christmas and since then, tons of y’all have asked if I would do a review on them! I am absolutely obsessed with this pair so today I want to share a review – what I wear them for, how they fit, and why I love them!

Before I dive into my review of the On sneakers…first I want to familiarize you guys with WHAT exactly makes this brand unique + why this shoe is so incredible. (BTW – this post is not sponsored at all, in any way haha. Not that that matters or makes a difference at all, but I know to some of you guys it does). Anyway! Here’s a little snippet from On’s website about their technology:

On’s patented CloudTec® technology is engineered to deliver a soft landing followed by an explosive take-off. The result? An unbelievably light running sensation. And no compromise on cushioning and impact protection. In other words, running on clouds.

When I was training for a marathon, SO many of you guys asked if I’d tried the On running shoes or told me that you loved yours so I was SO excited when Michael surprised me with these for Christmas! On makes lots of different running shoes , depending on what you are using them for. Today I will specifically be reviewing the Cloud X style (nordstrom is low on sizes in the white color but you can also purchase them here – I found them fully stocked!).

I have now worn these running shoes for 6 mile runs, and I’ve also worn them to classes like Orange Theory or Shred415 that incorporate both running and weight training. I’ve also worn them for just everyday life – errands, going for walks, etc. And I have LOVED them for each one of those activities. The Cloud X shoe that I have is specifically designed to be somewhat of a “crossover” shoe – meaning you can wear it for both running and for gym / high intensity workouts. So if you’re someone who likes fitness classes like Orange Theory, or a big variety in your workouts (running and weight training) this is the shoe for you.

Now let’s talk about WHY I love them so much. First of all – they just look cool haha which, if you’re a runner you know how hard it is to find a GOOD running shoe that’s also cute! It’s basically impossible ha but I LOVE how these shoes look! The real reason I love them though is because of how lightweight yet cushiony they are at the same time! So many running shoes are either lightweight OR cushy…and these are somehow both, at th same time. They give great support and cushion but don’t weigh you down at all! In that sense, they are kind of a unicorn of a running shoe!

Even if you’re not looking for a shoe for running / workouts, these are amazing for anyone who is on their feet all day (like nurses!). Or if you’re just wanting an all around great athletic shoe that look cool and will keep your feet feeling great, I think you will love the On Cloud X running shoe! I typically go up a half size in my running shoes (I wear a size 8, and an 8.5 in running shoes) and did the same with these shoes. So, I’d suggest going up half a size if you’re planning on running in them.

On makes other shoes that are specifically engineered for LONG distance running. So I will say – if you’re looking for a shoe to run a marathon in, I’d check out their other styles. I LOVE the Cloud X but I probably wouldn’t run more than 6 miles in them! If you’re wanting a shoe for long distance running, check out the Cloudflow! These are on my wishlist for sure and I really want to give them a try! If any of you guys have tried them out, I’d love to hear your feedback in the comments below!
