With this time at home being our (temporary) new normal, Michael and I have been specifically blocking out time alone where we can really focus on each other – away from the stress of parenthood, work and what’s going on in the world! It’s actually been really fun to come up with creative ways we can have a date night while we’re stuck inside! Whether it’s a fun “night out” on the porch with a bottle of rose and a new recipe, or a game of cards and binging a new TV show, time together is so important! I cannot wait until the day when we can plan a true night out, call a babysitter and I can wear all of my favorite summer styles (not just loungewear) to our favorite restaurants and spots around Dallas!
Recently I’ve been stocking my cart on the Nordstrom website with my “post quarantine wishlist” and I have found the cutest summer arrivals! Nordstrom is definitely my go-to retailer when I’m looking for a one-stop-shop for everything from shoes to bags to dresses and denim and I’ve already ordered so many things I’m dying to wear!

Classic Denim
For summer, you can’t go wrong with a pair of classic denim! I love pairing jeans that are a little cropped with a fun pair of strappy sandals or stylish slides when the weather is warm! The distressed hem on this pair of white denim is so cute and these button front cropped jeans look adorable paired with a tucked-in top.
Stylish Slides
Slides are my new obsession! I’ve ordered so many different pairs recently cus they’re so easy to throw on, but I am in love with the color of these Birkenstocks. Apparently I’m really into different shades of orange this year! These nude slides are also super cute to wear paired with a dress or jeans, and they’re so comfortable which is perfect for date night.
Tops I’m Obsessing Over
Feminine tops are taking over my summer wishlist! I love the pale yellow and ruffled sleeves of this eyelet top and this bright orange bodysuit would be perfect worn with jeans or a skirt! And of course you can’t go wrong with a classic distressed t-shirt.
Accessories
Ya’ll know I love Kendra Scott! These hoop earrings are such a pretty, unique shape and they’re so dainty. I can definitely see them becoming a new summer staple! Also, I know you’ve seen me carry this nude bag everywhere lately! It’s so versatile and it’s the perfect size.
Layers I’m Loving
Okay, lastly I have to mention a few summer layering items I’m loving! A good denim jacket is essential for summer, and I love the wash of this distressed jacket. Wear it over a dress or a t-shirt and it’s the perfect weight for a warm night! Also, how you cute are these army green shorts? I saw them and had to have them! Okay last but not least, this striped dress is a must-have. As a mom I’m always looking for something casual to throw on that isn’t too dressed down, and this one fit the bill!
It has felt so refreshing to finally get out and about a little bit, and I cannot wait until my latest Nordstrom order shows up on my doorstep so I can share more summer arrivals with you guys! I hope ya’ll have an amazing week. Remember, every new week is a chance to start fresh! Happy Monday!
