I don’t know what it is about summertime, but I think there is something so special + almost nostalgic about summer date nights! Spending a day in the sun, feelin tan, then showering and getting ready for a date night…crisp white wine out on a patio, sun dresses…i just think it’s magical! Prior to quarantine, Michael and I tried to do a date night once a week (we need to get back in the habit of that!). We try and branch out and try new restaurants / places but definitely have our handful of favorites as well. So today I wanted to share with you guys our 5 favorite date night spots in Dallas (at the moment)!
Go-to + favorite all around
R+D Kitchen is probably our go-to date night spot when we’re wanting something nicer than say, Chuy’s, but not too fancy! I love that R+D has a delicious menu but still feels relatively light and fresh. We are both obsessed with their dip duo and the Thai tuna roll is LIFE! We like the atmosphere at R+D because it feels upscale and romantic without being too dressy or formal!
Tex-mex for life
There are countless amazing tex-mex restaurants in Dallas (one of the things we missed the most when living in Colorado!) and we have several favorites. Recently we’ve been really favoring Mesero in Preston Hollow (that location is about 3 minutes from where we are renting). The patio is nice and their food and margaritas are both incredible! We never go without getting the queso mesero and then I love just about EVERY entree on the menu!

When the sushi craving hits
Okay, does anyone else feel like there is NOTHING stronger than a sushi craving?! Like when I get it in my brain that I want sushi, there’s absolutely no stopping me haha. Our favorite sushi spot in Dallas is Oishii! They actually have two locations now and we love them both! I like the atmosphere because it’s not too loud and their sushi is THE BEST! The royce roll and donut roll are probably our two favorites! But honestly everything on the menu is fabulous. We’ve been getting it delivered a lot during quarantine because I missed it so much!
Pizza = Michael’s love language
Michael loves a good pizza night and one of our fave restaurants for pizza is Cane Rosso. Their pizza tastes light and fresh but PACKED with flavor. We also love their burrata appetizer! The vibe here is really casual and family friendly, but still works great for a date night. We haven’t been to this restaurant yet, but ordered Pie Tap for delivery during quarantine and their pizza was AMAZING too. Can’t speak to the restaurant but I can tell you they have really darn good pizza!
When you’re feeling fancy
Town Hearth is a newer(ish) restaurant in Dallas we have really enjoyed! The vibe is definitely more ‘swanky’ with gorgeous chandeliers and a more upscale environment. But their food is amazing – I think we split a steak there, had their mac & cheese & brussel sprouts, and of course dessert, and everything was so good! We’ve only been once but still talk about it and can’t wait to go back!
Whether we’re doing a more casual date night (even at home!) or getting dressed up to go out, I have found so many adorable summer date night looks at Nordstrom recently! I love this popover midi dress because it’s easy to dress up or down, and the color can really show off your summer tan! This would also be a great dress for a summer wedding paired with my favorite heeled sandals! You also can’t beat this price: under $60 for a gorgeous, great quality dress that isn’t see through at all!
I also just got this Tory Burch bag from Nordstrom and think it’s the perfect everyday summer bag! It’s big enough to carry all of my things + a spare diaper and a snack for Shiloh and the quilted leather is gorgeous!
