It’s officially that time of year…where it’s still a million degrees out but, you are craving fall and cooler temps! (At least if you live in Texas haha). Buying clothes right now feels a little weird because retailers start putting out sweaters and pants and all these things you probably can’t imagine wearing in 100-degree weather! BUT at the same time, we are all kind of over summer clothes! So today I wanted to share some of my current favorite finds that can help you transition your wardrobe from summer to fall! These are all pieces you can wear now while it’s crazy hot, but also layer to transition perfectly into fall as well.
First I quickly want to talk about handbags / accessories. I bought this Gucci disco bag about two years ago and it’s been one of my best investments I have ever made, in the handbag department! It’s definitely an investment piece but I have gotten SO much use out of this bag. I love that you can carry it year round – whether it’s middle of summer and 100 degrees out, or pair it with a chunky knit sweater in the fall. It’s also one of those bags you can dress up or down super easily and holds a surprisingly large amount of items. If you’re looking for a splurge-worthy designer bag, I recommend this one ten times out of ten!
On a more budget-friendly note haha. These sandals have hands down been my most-worn sandals this summer, and I love that the tan color can also be paired with more fall / transitional type outfits as well. You can see in these photos that they are super easy to dress up with a maxi dress, but as I type this blog post I’m wearing cut-off shorts and a tank, and these same sandals. SO versatile, super comfortable, and a very reasonable price point!
I think a great denim jacket is a year-round wardrobe staple, especially for transitioning your summer outfits into fall. I’ve had this free people denim jacket for years now and it continues to be a staple in my wardrobe that I have worn countless times and paired with hundreds of outfits! I love that the denim is kind of soft, so it’s not to stiff and actually really comfortable!

summer to fall favorites
We are actually heading to cooler temperatures this week and I could not be more excited! I am so thankful to be back in Dallas close to family again but…for sure missing Colorado this time of year! Dallas summer can be pretty brutal. Especially with a toddler haha there’s literally nothing you can do outside other than go to the pool when it’s this hot out! So, you better believe I’m bringing some of these fall transitional pieces on our trip coming up! Especially excited about this blazer and this adorable plaid button up shirt!
