Hi friends! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! We’ve officially started potty training with Shiloh lol so #prayersappreciated. Anyway! Can you guys believe that Thanksgiving is NEXT WEEK?! My mind is honestly blown but I am SO EXCITED! Today I wanted to share an outfit with you guys I’ll probably be wearing some variation of on Thanksgiving…as well as 6 of my favorite recipes that I’ve made over the past several Thanksgivings that have always been a hit!
I shared this sweater in my ‘thanksgiving outfit ideas‘ blog post a few weeks ago and it’s probably what I will be wearing on Thanksgiving day. I am obsessed with the fit and quality of reformation sweaters! They are almost always what I grab in my closet when I’m in in a bind and don’t know what to wear…because I know I’ll love the outfit no matter what! The subtle puff sleeve on this one is so pretty and I love this rust color for fall.
This free people blazer has become another wardrobe favorite of mine this year! I love the oversized fit, but that the shoulders aren’t too broad or ‘puffed’ if that makes sense. I think it looks effortlessly chic and I love that it can be dressed up or down! I am wearing an XS in both the sweater and the blazer for reference!
Now onto some of my favorite Thanksgiving recipes I’ve made over the years! I was legit drooling while i was compiling all of these for today’s blog post haha. We have only ever hosted Thanksgiving dinner once…and other than that, I’ve just found some recipes I love to make to bring to Friendsgivings or to our parents house for the holiday!
Kale and Butternut squash salad with pears and almonds
The most perfect fall salad that ever existed! If you are heading to a Friendsgiving or even hosting at your house, this is a perfect side salad dish for a Thanksgiving meal. It’s also packed with really good-for-you ingredients and surprisngly filling!
Chicken sausage and herb stuffing
My mom makes an INCREDIBLE family recipe for Thanksgiving stuffing so I typically don’t make stuffing. BUT if I’m responsible for bringing stuffing to a Friendsgiving or if we are hosting…this is my go-to recipe! It’s fairly to easy to make and I LOVE the italian chicken sausage in this!
Brussel Sprouts Gratin
Basically combining cheese, brussels sprouts…all of my favorite things into one delicious dish – yes PLEASE. This dish legit takes less than 10mins to throw together but is for sure a crowd pleaser, and a good addition to the Thanksgiving table!
Maple soy glaze roasted brussels sprouts & butternut squash
This is a go-to side dish recipe for me EVERY year. It’s really simple but so fall-y and surprisingly delicious, considering how healthy it is! Love the addition of bacon too. This is a recipe I make for us throughout the entire fall and winter as a good side dish too – doesn’t have to just be for Thanksgiving! Hubs loves it too!
Okay now onto my real favorite part…the desserts!
Apple Cinnamon oatmeal cookies
I made these cookies last year for the first time and LOVED that it’s a cookie I can justify eating at breakfast hahah because it has apples and oatmeal in them! They are sweet and delicious but not too heavy IMO! And really – is there any better combination than apples, oats and cinnamon?!
White chocolate cranberry cookies
I’ve been making these for YEARS and legit look forward to them every fall! (The recipe above has pistachios in it but I always leave those out). These cookies are so soft and rich and I love the combo of white chocolate chips with cranberries! Might sound like a strange combo but trust me…you will love!
I also found a few other dessert recipes that i will definitely be trying this year that I wanted to share below!
White chocolate snickerdoodle blondies – OMG YES PLEASE.
Cheesecake swirl carrot bundt cake – just looking at these pics had me drooling haha this sounds so delicious
Salted caramel pretzel crunch bars – I am a huge sucker for any salty / sweet combo and these look divine!
What are y’alls plans for Thanksgiving this year?! I know Thanksgiving will probably look pretty different for most of us…but I hope you find ways to celebrate with your family and take time to focus on how much we all have to be thankful for.
Thank you for reading!
