In case you guys haven’t noticed, the Louis Vuitton Coussins bag has become my go-to, most carried designer bag I own in the past 6ish months. I actually bought it in camel last spring and I loved / carried it so much that Michael actually surprised me with the black one this past fall and I LOVE both of them so much. In case you are in the market for a new designer bag, or if you’ve just been wanting more info on the Coussin bag…I want to share my review of it with y’all today.
where to buy
You can always go to a local Louis Vuitton store to see if they have the Coussin bag in stock! I actually bought both of my Coussin bags pre-owned: the camel bag I bought from Julia Rose Boston and the black one I ordered from Fashionphile. Even though both of these bags were technically ‘pre-owned’, they were both in flawless condition – in the box, with tags, and I did not find one flaw on them. I own several designer bags and I would say I bought 90% of them pre-owned! I love being able to pay less than retail price and I’ve found that retailers like Fashionphile or Julia Rose have better inventory than most of the actual designer stores (because I am usually wanting something specific).
LV Coussins: size
This style of bag comes in a few different size options – I have the PM size in both the camel and black and LOVE this size. It actually has 3 different compartments on the inside which I think makes the bag very unique. I love that you can keep all of your stuff organized and it’s not just one big black hole. The size of this bag is probably my favorite thing about it – the bag is so classy and chic but also very practical. It holds my phone, wallet, little makeup bag for my lipsticks, a protein bar, keys, a little snack for shiloh…very spacious!
LV Coussins bag: the style
Another one of my favorite things about this bag is how versatile it is. I love wearing this bag as a crossbody with an oversized sweatshirt, joggers, and sneakers. But I also love wearing it with a little black dress and heels for date night. It’s probably the most versatile bag I own in terms of style. You can remove the thicker / wider strap if you want to make it even dressier, and just keep the gold chain on! OR you could remove the gold chain if you want! I love this about the bag because it makes it so versatile! I love the effortless yet fashion-forward vibe of this bag.
You can wear this bag crossbody, on your shoulder, or detach both straps and carry it like a clutch!
LV Coussins bag: the care
Another amazing thing about this bag: I’ve had my camel one for almost a year now, carried it hundreds of times, and it still looks brand new. (The black one does too, but that’s less surprising because it’s black). It almost has a pillow-like texture and the leather is lambskin so I thought it would be so delicate and show every scratch. But it’s actually been so durable and hasn’t shown scratches or marks at all. Just like any designer bag though – you’ll want to make sure you keep it away from being in direct sunlight, and you don’t want to keep it in a humid environment.
A bag like this is obviously a huge investment. When I’m purchasing a designer bag I want to know that 1 – I will carry it for years to come (ie the rest of my life), 2 – the quality is 10/10 and will last me a lifetime and 3 – I really value practicality with bags this expensive. I don’t want to splurge on a bag I can only wear on special occasions. I’m all about cost per wear and I have already gotten SO much use out of this bag. It’s definitely a splurge but if you are looking to splurge on a designer bag anytime soon…this one is worth EVERY penny in my opinion! Like I mentioned, out of all the bags I own…this one is for sure in my top 3, if not my #1.
