The older I get, the more I realize how important confidence really is. We live in a day and age of comparison which can lead to questioning what decisions you’re making, what you look like, and so on. There are more times than I’d like to admit that my lack of confidence has gotten the best of me, especially with in the blogging world.
So, I’m so excited to be partnering with Banana Republic for their “Turn it Up” campaign. This campaign is all about encouraging every Banana customer to “turn it up” in every aspect of life – your style, your job, your ideas….what does it look like to truly give it your all? What does it look like to turn it up, with confidence as your best accessory?
I get asked all the time for advice on starting a blog and I think this “turn it up” aspect is huge. Confidence is your best accessory. Don’t look around at what every other blogger is posting or doing – be confident in who you are and the things you are passionate about. And if you want to wear a bright pink sweater with bright pink lips…do it with confidence!
Pink sweater (also love this one) | Dark skinny jeans (similar pair here and on sale!) | Suede pointed toe booties | Clutch | Sunglasses | Lipgloss (wearing #17, stays on for hours!) | Earrings
The idea behind “turn it up” and confidence being your best accessory doesn’t only apply to blogging. I want to encourage you to make every decision – whether that’s about your job or what outfit to wear or where you should live…with absolute humility, but also with 100% confidence. Trust that God created you the way you are for a specific reason. Your mind works the way it does for a specific reason. You look exactly how you look for a specific reason – be confident in that!
When it comes to fashion (well, and decorating, and anything really)…I tend to stick to neutrals. It’s not every day you’ll see me in a bright pink sweater! But there’s something about wearing a bold color that you love that instantly makes you feel more confident. I feel more bold, and motivated to wear my outfit with confidence.
How do you “turn it up” in your every day life? Any tips on dressing with confidence, or just living with confidence in your every day life? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
