Two weekends ago Michael and I did a little staycation in Denver (about 45 minutes from Boulder) at Hotel Teatro and seriously had the funnest time! So, today I want to recap our weekend, review our stay at Hotel Teatro, and share some fun things to do in Denver!
First of all- this hotel is absolutely beautiful and so unique. The decor gives it such a cozy yet upscale vibe, and the location could not be more perfect! It’s right in the middle of downtown Denver, yet we still had a gorgeous view of the mountains from our room!
The service at the hotel was amazing and we felt super taken care of. There was a keurig in the room (which is a must) as well as a gorgeous bathroom with a giant tub! The king size bed was also super comfortable and the black out curtains allowed us to sleep in waayyy to late. We loved our room and found everything to be super comfortable!
Hotel Teatro also has an amazing restaurant inside it called The Nickel which is where we had dinner the first night. If you’re looking for things to do in Denver or places to eat, we cannot recommend this restaurant enough! Pictured above is our ‘build your own charcuterie board’. We literally got to pick each meat, cheese, and what to go along side of it, and it was SO good! Both of our entrees were fantastic as well.
The next morning we also had brunch at The Nickel and it was equally as amazing as the dinner! They have a bottomless bar cart option which is even more amazing than just bottomless mimosas. You can make your own white russians or bloody mary and add in all the toppings! Call me #basic, but I stuck with the mimosa and it did not disappoint!
The next night we had dinner at Beatrice and Woodsley, and y’all this had to have been the cutest restaurant I’ve ever seen. It’s a fairly upscale restaurant so I’d think of it as a nice date night, or celebrating something special. But the inside decor feels like you’re in a romantic tree house and the atmosphere is so quaint and lovely. Not to mention the food was out of this world! Definitely get the ricotta toasties for an appetizer, and I got the braised pork shank for my entree…and it was out of this world!
Other things to do in Denver:
(Denver is literally packed full with tons of fun restaurants, bars, and more. We were only there two nights, so I’m just sharing a few things I did! I could do an entire blog post though with a Denver city guide because there is SO much to do):
- Larimer square is such a fun area to walk around, grab a bite to eat, or go to one of the rooftop bars. We went to Tamayo our first night to grab a drink on the rooftop before dinner and it was so nice! Really good margaritas, a fun atmosphere, and of course perfect weather
- We had brunch at Linger on Sunday morning which was fun! Can’t way I love it as much as snooze haha but it’s a really unique experience and the food is all very fresh. We’d been there for dinner before, and their dinner is AMAZING. I’d say their brunch was pretty good (in my opinion, of course)!
- Our last night in Denver we had ice cream at Sweet Cooie’s and it was so adorable! Seriously one of the cutest ice cream shops I’ve ever been in. Marble everywhere, the severs dressed like an old school ice cream shop…and of course the actual ice cream was so yummy
- Little Man Ice cream is probably our favorite ice cream in Denver! So of course we went there Sunday after brunch before heading back to Boulder. If you’re ever in Denver you HAVE to go there – it’s worth the super long wait! (And now I’m definitely craving some Salted Oreo ice cream, dang it).
Let me know if y’all have been to (or live in!) Denver and have other great recommendations! I love adding to my list of places to try! Denver is such a fun city to explore, and I can’t recommend Hotel Teatro enough for your stay in Denver!
