Ever since we moved to Colorado, I’ve had alot of requests from you guys to do a post on my favorite outerwear. So today I’m sharing my favorite outerwear for every climate – whether you live somewhere with miserably cold winters like Chicago, or somewhere like Texas where winter doesn’t really exist haha. All of the jackets I’m sharing with y’all today, I’ve either tried on and loved, or I personally own!

So first, let’s talk about this herringbone jacket I’m wearing! I am in love with how feminine and classic this jacket is. It’s also so easy to dress up or down – you could wear it to work, to a winter wedding, or casual with jeans like I did here. You can layer it over a sweater or a cami depending on how cold it is where you are! This would be an example of a great winter coat for all of you Texas gals or places with warmer winters. Here are a few other great winter coats for people with mild winters, or just great, more lightweight jackets:
Any of the above jackets could obviously work for colder winters as well – you will just need more layers! But I own this suede moto jacket and wear it in CO all the time! If it’s super cold outside though I just might also layer my heavy coat over it haha. But any of the above jackets are perfect for Texas winters IMO!
The next category of coats I want to talk about is my personal favorite – when you need to be warm, but also want to be cute. These jackets are all on-trendy, gorgeous coats that will keep you warm in NYC but also look adorable!
I personally own this parka and wore it during Christmas in NYC last year and it was really warm! This one is on my wishlist! I love the color and the casual style.

The last category of coats I want to chat about today is one I’ve personally developed a huge interest in since we moved to Colorado – insanely warm + weatherproof coats. These coats will keep you warm when its 40 degrees or less, through wind, snow or rain. They are expensive but worth every penny if you live somewhere cold! They truly do make all the difference in the cold. I’m a huge baby with cold weather and basically can’t handle it at all…but my canada goose jacket and this patagonia have both been lifesavers!
