By now, you guys are probably well aware of my borderline crazy obsession with tennis shoes. Whenever people look at my closet, my sneaker collection is typically the highlight haha (I am both proud and ashamed to admit that). With the new year’s resolutions upon us, I figured a lot of you might be in the market for some new kicks…so today I want to break down my favorite shoes for every category: running, weight training, and athleisure!
Favorite Running Shoes
I just ran my first marathon on these ASICS Gel Kayano’s and LOVED them. I trained for the marathon on those, and the ASICS Dynaflytes. I’ve said this a million times before and will say it again: every runner is different, and running shoes are not one size fits all. But for me, personally…I love running in ASICS. They’re supportive, comfortable, and I’ve yet to ever have an injury in ASICS *knock on wood*.
I also recently got these Nikes that I’m obsessed with. They are the only Nikes I’ve ever actually been able to run in! They’re comfortable, supportive, lightweight…and actually really cute haha. I also love these Nikes because I wear them on cross training days too.
Favorite weight + cross training shoes
I got the Nike metcons for Christmas 2 years ago and LOVE them for any form of weight training. They have a lot of support for things like squats or jumping. And I think they’re so cute! I highly recommend these shoes for weight training or crossfit.
I got these Nike frees during the Nordstrom sale and love them for any type of HIIT workout [think mountain climbers, burpees, etc]. They are lightweight but still supportive.
Like I said above, I also wear these Nikes [air zoom pegasus] for cross training a lot as well! That’s one of the reasons why they’re in my top purchases for 2017 because they are a very multifunctional shoe in my opinion!
Favorite athleisure kicks
Okay, here’s where the tough part comes in haha – narrowing down my favorite athleisure kicks! I’ve recently been on a MAJOR Adidas kick [no pun intended lol]. I got the Adidas Swift Run and the Adidas NMD shoes at the same time and love both pairs. I think you could do some weight lifting / low impact workout in either shoe, but I personally just wear them for errands, traveling, running around town, walking Beau, etc. They are both insanely comfortable and lightweight.
If I had to pick a favorite between the two, I’d probably pick the Adidas Swift Run because I think they just have a classic / timeless / athletic look to them. But, both are great! [SIZING TIP: Adidas shoes run big! I always go down a size in Adidas].
I’ve also loved the Nike Roshe shoes for a long time. IMO they might be the most comfortable pair of Nikes out there. Again, I wear these for travel days (my feet never get sore and never get blisters), or with cozy + comfortable athleisure outfits during the week.
Lastly, I LOVE the Nike Juvenates for athleisure. Again, you could also do some low impact workouts in these [I wear them when I do the stairmaster, or if I’m doing weights], but they are also SO cute with jeans and a tee. They’re super comfortable and insanely lightweight! I’m almost embarrassed to admit that I have them in 4 colors (black, tan, white, and grey!).
