No matter what season we’re in, my obsession with a great pair of jeans does not fade. Y’all know my list of weaknesses: tennis shoes, sunglasses, and denim. I could probably start my own store with just those 3 things in it haha. ANYWAY. Within the last year or so, I’d heard so many people rave about the denim brand Mother – friends or family or bloggers that I follow (and some of you guys who have commented on my posts saying I have to try them!). So, I finally gave them a try and am here to give you a Mother denim review! (BTW this post is not sponsored in any way haha Mother doesn’t even know that I exist. I just want to share my thoughts with y’all about this brand!)
First of all, I think the reviews for this brand (at least on the Nordstrom site) kind of speak for themselves! Am I the only one who is obsessed with reading reviews when shopping online? Almost every pair of Mother jeans on Nordstrom’s site has nearly all the stars, and people raving about the style and the fit. I have to say…I 100% agree with these reviews. So I got this pair of Mother jeans a month or so ago, and I knew it was love from the moment I put them on. And, let me clarify. I am a tough critic when it comes to jeans. People are obsessed with Rag & Bone and I’ve just never fallen in love – maybe it’s my body type or something, idk. I say that to say…it’s not easy for a pair of jeans to win me over.
Anyway, back to this magical pair of jeans. There are 3 main things I love about them:
- Style – I love the lighter wash of these jeans, especially going into spring and summer. I know I will wear these 24/7 this spring in CO! They are seriously the perfect “jeans and a tee” style that I love. I love the distressing on them – it’s kinda bold but not too over the top. The rips are literally perfect, and that’s hard to find in a pair of jeans
- High rise – I might not be a mom, or in my 30’s, but y’all…I love me a good pair of high rise jeans! High rise denim is pretty much all I wear now. I think they are so much more comfortable and flattering. I love the high rise on these jeans – they hit just at my belly button (maybe a little lower) so they hold you in in all the right places
- Fit / comfort – okay these are probably the most flattering jeans I have ever owned. I’m not tooting my own horn here but these jeans will do magical things for your booty haha! You have to trust me on this one! Along with the super flattering fit…these jeans are also insanely comfortable! Like the kind of jeans you don’t need to take off the second you get home…because it almost feels like you’re wearing leggings.
I also love the length of these jeans (sorry, I guess there are more than 3 things haha). The length hits me right at my ankle (I’m 5’7) and I love the raw hemline! If you’re wondering what size to get in these life-changing jeans…I found them to run true to size. I got my normal size (25) and they fit perfectly. If you are in between two sizes though (sometimes a 25, sometimes a 26), I’d suggest you go with the smaller size.
I know these jeans aren’t cheap…which is why it took me a year to finally give them a try. But, if you’ve been on the hunt for a super flattering, really cool, stylish pair of jeans…they are 100% worth the splurge IMO.

Lastly – y’all know how much I love AG jeans! TBH though I haven’t found a pair of AG’s I really love…until last week, when I got this pair of high rise ankle skinny jeans! I told Martha that day “you should probably go ahead and buy these because they are AMAZING”. (See what they look like on me in this blog post and this instagram). They’re similar to the Mother jeans in that they are high rise and distressed. But, the wash is different and they have less distressing. Plus, when you wear jeans as much as I do…I feel like two pair to get me through spring and summer is understandable, right?! I wholeheartedly recommend both Mother and AG jeans if you’re in the market for a new pair (or pairs!). For AG – I also find them to run true to size, I got my normal size (25) and they fit great. If you are in between sizes though, I’d suggest going a size up.
Have y’all tried either of these jeans on before? Are you equally as obsessed? Comment below with your thoughts or if you have any other life-changing denim recommendations! Thanks for reading!
