This past week, Michael and I took a little get away to the Ritz Carlton Lake Tahoe for 3 nights and it was truly magical! Tahoe had been on my bucket list for a while and it did not disappoint. So, today I want to give y’all a review of the Ritz Carlton there for anyone curious about visiting!
First of all…this resort is just exquisite. It’s rustic, charming, and elegant all at the same time. The photos above are in the main lobby of the hotel, which actually feel like a cozy living room you could move into. There are several fireplaces with beautiful mantles, cozy couches, and pretty decor throughout the lobby of the hotel. You can also order food or drinks in this area that they call “the living room”, which is one of their on site restaurants. We ordered snacks and drinks down here during the Super Bowl and loved everything we ordered. [Definitely try the Bison nachos if you go! They were so good!]
Speaking of food…the food at The Ritz Carlton Lake Tahoe was a 10 on a 10 pretty much every single meal we ate there. We had breakfast and dinner once each at Manzanita and LOVED both meals. The above meal was avocado toast with poached eggs and was amazing! For dinner at Manzanita we had dungeness crab cavatelli as an appetizer, and I had the filet mignon for my main course. Both of us loved our meals there!
Ritz Carlton hotels also give you the option to upgrade to “club access” which I definitely recommend! We used the club lounge every single day and it was 100% worth it. The club lounge has unlimited food and drink (and, actually GOOD food and drink!) and it’s the perfect place to grab breakfast or set up camp for a few hours and get work done (with a glass of wine).
The bottom picture is from something called “marshmology” that the Lake Tahoe location has every single day at 4:30pm! There’s a gorgeous firepit, and then a s’mores set up…with a different specialty marshmallow everyday, made by their in house chef! The one above was blackberry and it was SO good! ugg pajama set
Now that I’ve officially made all of y’all hungry lol, I’ll talk about our room at Ritz Carlton Lake Tahoe! The rooms there are gorgeous, and we had this amazing view of the mountain from our balcony. There was also a nespresso in there which y’all know I utilized every morning haha. The bathroom was huge and amazing and had a CRAZY deep bath tub which I definitely took advantage of! Our king size bed was so cozy, there was a fireplace in the room, and more than enough space for both Michael and me!
Another amazing thing about the Ritz Carlton Lake Tahoe is that it’s a ski in / ski out resort for Northstar. It was SO convenient being able to put our boots on (they also have a mountain concierge that will put your boots on warmers before you head out! AMAZING), and then just walk onto the slopes! Northstar is an awesome mountain with tons of incredible runs. Unfortunately while we were there, it was unseasonably warm, so the snow wasn’t the best. But, the mountain was still beautiful and we had a blast nonetheless!

Lastly I want to highlight the spa at Ritz Carlton Lake Tahoe. Michael and I got a couples massage on our last day there and the whole experience was SO relaxing. We got there about an hour early to use the facilities – so I went to the women’s area and he went to the men’s. We both used the steam room, dry sauna, hot tub, (michael used the cold plunge pool but I couldn’t do it haha), and then we had our massages after that. If you’re heading to any Ritz soon, I definitely recommend at least using the spa facilities (they’re complimentary), and getting a massage as well if you’re wanting to really treat yourself!
While we were in Tahoe, we took the gondola down from the Ritz into the village for dinner a few nights, and shopping during the day. We ate at Yamakai twice actually haha because the sushi was SO good! On our way back to the airport, we drove through North Lake Tahoe to the Hyatt Regency (close to Crystal Bay). We grabbed a drank at the Lonestar Grille because the view was TO DIE for. I highly recommend checking that place out.
Our trip to Tahoe was pretty short so we definitely want to go back in the summer for more exploring and hiking. It truly is such a beautiful and peaceful place. If you’ve also been wanting to go there, I definitely recommend staying at Ritz Carlton Lake Tahoe. The food, service, and amenities were all top quality and we truly loved our stay there.
