Happy Friday friends! Today I wanted to talk all things ‘spring’ and share an outfit I’ve been loving lately with y’all. I don’t know about you guys, but the spring fever is REAL haha. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve loved our first full winter in Boulder (probably isn’t over just yet!) but I’m getting so excited about spring – all the florals, sunshine, spring break for M, hiking, etc. Spring is just such a beautiful time of year and I love slowly swapping out my oversized sweaters for pretty tanks, like this floral one, and other spring tops I’m sharing today!
So obviously winter isn’t exactly over just yet, but we are definitely moving into spring time and all of my favorite brands are releasing their lines for the new season. Honestly the best way to transition your wardrobe from winter to spring IMO is to incorporate layering. Plus I’m always a big fan of items being worn multiple ways, so this is a great way to get more use out of your cardigans and lights jackets. Side note – just saying ‘light jackets’ made me think of Miss Congeniality lol hopefully I’m not the only one whose brain goes there!
As you can tell from the snow in these pics, we’re still getting some cold days in Boulder right now. So when I went to wear this adorable tank and my fave light wash jeans, I also grabbed this free people cardigan to complete the look. I love this cardigan because it’s light enough to wear on warmer days too, and the classic neutral color makes it work for just about anything in your closet. Plus it has a fun textured look to it! I got this tank before our Jamaica trip and I can’t even count how many times I’ve worn it since then. It looks so good with jeans or shorts, and I think the colors are flattering on any skin tone! It also isn’t too low which I personally love. During this time of year, I also love the look of a classic denim jacket over a casual dress or spring top. Layers are such a great way to add more dimension to your look and make it seem like you really tried – when actually all I did was mix some of my favorite basics together!
I think lightweight cardigans or casual jackets are such a great way to add more to any spring outfit. I also love finding pretty spring tops that are so great for layering like this. Y’all know one of my favorite places to shop for just about anything, but especially tops, is Nordstrom. I love that they have so much variety and they honestly just make shopping SO easy. I wanted to share more spring tops from Nordstrom with y’all, so you can shop some of my faves below!
