Last week Michael and I went to Laguna Beach, California to celebrate our wedding anniversary! You guys know how much I love laying out, going to the pool, really anything involving the sun. Something that tends to drive me crazy though when it comes to shopping for swimsuits is how difficult it can be to find swimwear that’s both on trend and functional. When we were in California, we walked on the beach a lot, wore our swimsuits to get tacos or ice cream, and went to the most beautiful caves on a beach called 1,000 Steps Beach. So, I needed a swimsuit that could handle some movement and activity!
I’ve been an avid shopper of Backcountry.com for a long time now, but my level of obsession has definitely gone up since we moved to Colorado. So, back to our adventure to 1,000 Steps Beach in Laguna. You guys know that I love to be active, especially on vacations, and this beach is a great way to stay active and enjoy the sun and scenery at the same time. After you go down the steps (it’s not actually 1,000 steps, don’t worry! I think it was more like 275 haha), if you walk to the left for a while, you will get to these beautiful sea caves! Make sure you check the tide reports before you go to make sure it’s low tide, so you can see the tide pools and caves.
1,000 Steps Beach is the perfect place to camp out for the day. We brought our towels, lots of water and snacks for the day. It’s a really quiet beach (due to it being slightly difficult to get to) so it’s great for a picnic lunch or just lounging and reading for the day!
The swimsuit I wore to 1,000 Steps Beach was perfect for an active day in the sun – it’s perfect for throwing the frisbee on the beach or even going for a quick jog! I also wore this white free people tank over my swimsuit which was so lightweight and nice for when we were in the sea caves. The swimsuit felt super comfortable under my clothes and didn’t move around, and I felt really supported everywhere, if you know what I mean. Of course I also took my favorite sunhat to the beach to protect my face from sun!
If you’re in Laguna Beach and looking for ways to stay active on your trip, definitely check out 1,000 Steps Beach. It has so many activities (sea caves, tide pools, the steps) to keep you active for the day! And bonus: the beach is absolutely beautiful and it was really quiet + peaceful when we were there! After our day at the beach, we stopped by Gelato Paradiso for the yummiest gelato EVER.
This swimsuit was so perfect for 1,000 Steps Beach because it’s adorable, but it also doesn’t restrict you from being active! This is a great suit for trips to the lake or actually getting in the ocean, or any other summer activity! ALSO wanted to talk about how amazing this Fjallraven backpack is! I had seen these backpacks everywhere and finally decided to take the plunge and get one for myself. Y’all…if you are into outdoors or being active (hiking, camping, traveling, beach trips, etc) you need this backpack! It’s super functional with a lot of compartments and really easy to clean off! It was perfect for our day at 1,000 Steps Beach.
