PIN ITPIN ITPIN ITIt’s so crazy to think that we’re already gearing up for our second fall in Colorado! If y’all have been on instagram for even two seconds in the last couple of weeks, you know the excitement for fall is in full swing (so many PSL’s haha). And even though it seemed a little premature to me at first, I have to admit I’ve caught the bug and am SO excited for fall. Fall is Colorado is just so beautiful and the weather is amazing. It’s my favorite season and especially this year, with baby girl due in November, I know it’s going to be even more special. So today I wanted to talk more about fall in Colorado and specifically how I dress for the season! PIN ITPIN ITAs a native Texas girl, I had NO idea how to dress for life in Colorado when we moved here. Like I’m pretty sure I didn’t own anything that was warm enough for some of the colder days here, and we definitely weren’t going on many hikes in Dallas lol. Plus, the style and culture in Colorado is just very different than what I was used to in Dallas – it’s a lot more relaxed and active, which makes sense considering all the outdoor activities here. I would have to say one of the most common questions I get is from followers who are planning a visit to Colorado and are unsure of what to pack/how to dress. And I totally get it! Something that’s unique about dressing for fall in Colorado is that your clothes have to be functional. You need outfits that can take you from brunch with friends to hiking a favorite trail. I wanted to share an example of an outfit today that works for both everyday life and hikes with friends. PIN ITPIN IT
Everything I’m wearing in these I found at one of my favorite places to shop, Backcountry. Y’all, I can’t even begin to tell you how much good stuff I’ve found from Backcountry. They truly have everything from Free People thermals + sweaters (like the one I’m wearing in these photos) to hiking shoes and ski gear. I love it all because you can find stuff that’s both cute and functional, clothes that really support your lifestyle. The clothes translate well from everyday life to outdoor adventuring. I’ve learned that layers are definitely your best friend during fall in Colorado. For example, I love how this Patagonia parka layers well with this thermal tee. It’s a perfect look for fall but also practical, and they’re both such versatile pieces. If you’re traveling to Colorado this fall, definitely pack layers! Think thermals, pullovers, light jackets, and (depending on the specific week) a heavier, more weatherproof jacket. This parka is one of those pieces that I know I will be wearing ALL the time. I’ve rounded up more fall favorites that I think are perfect for any activity!

PIN ITPIN ITAnother reason I love Backcountry is that you don’t have to sacrifice looking cute in order for your clothes to be functional. There are so many adorable Patagonia pullovers (you can never have too many, right?) and comfortable leggings. I always recommend bring at least one cozy pullover and a good pair of leggings for a trip to Colorado. It’s an easy go-to outfit for coffee with friends or some time in the mountains. And I would definitely say you need a good pair of durable, comfy boots that you can dress up or down. The boots I’m wearing in these photos are exactly that! They’re also great for colder days when there’s snow on the ground.PIN IT
