summer activewear i’m loving
If you’ve been following me for a while, or if you follow me on stories, you know I LIVE in activewear…whether I’m working out that day or not haha. This has been true for me for years, but even more so now that I’m a momma, and I work from home. I love living in workout clothes for a few reasons. 1) because they are so comfortable no matter what I’m doing. 2) when I’m already wearing workout clothes I feel much more inclined to actually get a workout in or go for a quick walk around the block if I’m already dressed for it! When I shower and get dressed for the day, I rarely actually put on jeans or “real” clothes. My “getting ready” consists of showering, doing my skincare routine, throw on a tinted moisture, and put on an activewear outfit.
Because I wear workout clothes daily, I’m obsessed with shopping for good activewear. I have a mix of clothes that are very “performance” focused (ie: moisture wicking, breathable etc), and then more lifestyle activewear, which I think describes the look I’m wearing in these photos.
I don’t know about you but I strongly disliked this new “biker short” trend for the past several months, since it became a thing. I didn’t get it. It looked like 80s exercise video moms trying to be trendy IMO lol. BUT. I found this pair for under $50 at Nordstrom and decided to see what the hype was about. I hate to say it y’all…but I fell in love with these shorts the moment I tried them on.
I think it’s safe to say we all love wearing leggings, right? But in the summer, leggings are not the most comfortable or realistic option. They’re hot, you get sweaty, and they look kind of weird when its 90 degrees out. So, I kind of love the biker short thing because it’s the same feel as leggings, they’re just shorter and not as hot. But, they are still super comfortable like leggings but keep you cool like shorts do. But, you don’t have to worry about constantly pulling them down like you would with normal shorts, because they aren’t shorts! Honestly they are the best of EVERY world and I have for sure drank the koolaid!
I also recently bought these Nikes for more of a lifestyle / everyday sneaker, because I thought they looked awesome. I wasn’t really planning on working out in them, but brought them with me to nyc recently (as my only athletic shoe) and they were actually GREAT for running! They are so light and almost fit like a sock, but still have really good support. Y’all know how much I love a good sneaker so I’m v tempted to get these in a second color! They’re amazing. If you’re planning on running in them though, I’d suggest going up a half size!
I got this entire outfit you’re seeing here from Nordstrom, which is one reason why I love to shop there so much. You can literally find everything you need in one place – whether it’s activewear, chic sunglasses, great running shoes…and all in such a wide variety of price points. I love their free shipping + free returns policy and their amazing customer service goes a LONG way in my book.
More activewear I’m loving for summer!
If you’ve been needing more outfits to just run around town in, get work done around the house in, or inspire you to get your sweat on…I hope this outfit does the trick for ya! I’ve honestly worn it more times than I’d like to admit within the last week because it’s so comfortable and flattering! Thanks for reading!
