Happy Wednesday friends! I’m so happy y’all have been enjoying our Wellness Wednesday series as much as we have. For today’s blog post, I want to share some of my favorite tips for keeping your hair healthy. Since I love to color my hair and style it pretty regularly for photoshoots and stuff, I definitely have to make sure I take good care of my hair. I used to majorly struggle with breakage/dryness in the past, but over the last few years I’ve really made point to take GOOD care of my hair and do everything I can to protect it. Today I wanted to share some easy haircare tips that keep your locks nice and healthy, as well as some of my absolute holy grail hair products!

tip 1. use quality shampoo + conditioner
Oribe Gold Lust Repair & Restore Shampoo and Conditioner
I’ve been using this shampoo and conditioner for probably 5 years now. I’ve tried countless others and have yet to find an option I love as much (or see equal results) as Oribe. It has CHANGED my hair for the better. This will repair and restore any damage or dryness to your hair without making your hair oily or heavy. It’s not cheap but it’s worth every penny IMO and will also keep your color lasting longer.
tip 2. do a weekly deep conditioner
Olaplex Hair Perfector No. 3 – I posted about this a few months back when I bought it during the sephora sale. I had read so many amazing reviews about this product (AND several hair stylists had recommended it to me) so I knew I needed to try it. I only use this product about twice a month because it is POWERFUL. Apply it to wet / damp hair, leave it on for about 30ish minutes, and then rinse it out and wash your hair like normal. This is a concentrated treatment that strengthens the hair from within, reducing breakage and improving its look and feel, for less than $30.
Oribe Gold Lust Transformative Masque – this is another product I’ve had in my hair routine for 4 or 5 years. This is a masque you can use once a week that will penetrate your hair to rebuild each fiber, improve elasticity and fortify, leaving hair soft and full of body and revealing its inner brilliance. This mask will restore overworked hair to its prime. It also strengthens the hair’s cuticle and fills in weak spots, adds shine and provides UV protection. I use this one like you’d use a normal conditioner – just let it sit in for at least 10 minutes!
tip 3. minimize heat + always use heat protection when styling
Oribe Gold Lust Power Drops – I mix the heat styling shield with these power drops EVERY time I wash my hair (which is about twice a week), before blow drying. It’s a magical combination that will protect your hair from heat and keep it super healthy and strong.
Hair Turban – if you follow me on stories, you know I’m obsessed with this hair turban. It cuts your hair drying time in half and also avoids drying your hair out like a normal towel does!
tip 4. sleep on a silk pillowcase
Silk Pillowcase – i didn’t really get the craze behind the silk pillowcase thing until I tried it and discovered it is actually so amazing both for your hair and skin. this pillowcase is an anti-aging, anti-sleep crease, anti-bed head pillowcase that’s like an eight-hour beauty treatment every night. Whenever i travel and don’t have it with me, I can TELL a difference in both my skin and my hair!
tip 5. take a daily hair vitamin
Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides – i put a scoop of this in my coffee everyday and the girls who do my hair both told me they could tell a HUGE difference in the health of my hair once I started collagen. it’s made my hair so much thicker and also grow a lot faster.
SugarBearHair Vitamins – I started taking these about 3 months post partum because of PP hair loss and I think they helped tremendously with that. honestly, they taste amazing and its hard to only eat 2 a day haha but i think they also significantly slowed down my hair loss and helped my hair grow so much faster!
tip 6. always use gentle hair ties + brushes
Scrunchies + Gentle Hold Hair Ties – Okay both of these are great hair tie options that are really gentle on your hair. Y’all, I can’t emphasize enough how important it is to pay attention to the hair ties you use! So many are really harsh on your hair and cause a ton of breakage, like way more than you realize. Both of these hair ties are not only really gentle, but they’re also great at holding your hair up for workouts or whatever else. You won’t constantly be needing to redo your pony tail or deal with hair falling out. It’s a small change you can make that will really help protect and restore your hair!
Wet Brush – So many hairbrushes can be really rough on your hair, leading to more breakage and frizz. This wet brush has been a total game changer for me. I first started using it when I got extensions a few years ago and wanted to be really gentle on all that hair. It’s been a staple for me ever since! This brush is amazing at detangling your hair without ripping it out and causing damage. Pro tip – any time you’re bushing your hair, start at the bottom with like the last two or so inches of your hair and then slowly work your way up. This way you’ll be gently working through the tangles and most of them will be out by the time you get to your roots. Oh FYI – don’t blow dry with this brush! It will melt and lose its shape lol so be sure to use a good round brush for that.
Thanks so much for reading! If you have any other hair tips to share, then please let me know in the comments. Have a great Wednesday!
