If you’ve been on Instagram at all in the last two weeks, chances are you’ve seen a few bloggers (myself included!) start talking about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I’m not exaggerating at all when I say this is literally my favorite sale of the YEAR and also one of the most fun (and exhausting) parts of my job! I have been shopping + sharing about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale for years and I truly look forward to it every summer. Today I wanted to take some time to give y’all all of the details about the sale and what to expect on the blog + instagram in the weeks to come. I don’t want y’all to miss out on this incredible sale!
SO, what is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and why is it such a big deal?
Like I said above, this is hands down the BEST sale of the year out of any retailer ever. This sale is unique in that Nordstrom is offering exclusive discounts on new merchandise. Every July, Nordstrom kicks off a huge sale on their new fall merchandise. This is brand new stuff that’s never been in the store or online before. Usually sales are on items that have been on the shelves (so to speak) for a while and the store is trying to get rid fo them in preparation for the next season. But with the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, that’s not the case! These are new fall clothes, shoes, and accessories, and the discounted prices are only available for a limited time!
What you need to know + tips for shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale
First off, if you don’t have a Nordstrom card yet, GET ONE! The Anniversary sale alone makes it worth it, but the card also gets you tons of benefits. There’s no annual fee either and getting your card is quick and easy! The card allows you to shop the sale early before non-cardholders. This is crucial because stuff sells out really quick during the sale. That is my next tip for shopping the sale. Since Nordstrom offers free shipping and free returns, I would say if you want something, grab it. Things sell out so quickly, so it’s better to buy it and give it a shot, than to risk waiting and having the item sell out.
Last year I remember things sold out SO quick and I kept thinking they would get restocked…but that rarely happened unfortunately. Who knows what this year will be like, but I’d recommend buying ASAP if you love something!

How to prepare for the Nordstrom Sale
Every year before the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, I browse the catalog they release. It doesn’t show everything on sale by any means, but it definitely gives you a fun preview + inspo! The sale will have everything from fall clothes + accessories to loungewear and home decor. Seriously y’all, there is SO much good stuff and I plan to cover all of it. Right now, I recommend taking a look at the catalog as well as your current fall wardrobe (even if just from memory, if it’s not currently hanging up in your closet haha). Do you need new booties? Is your denim kind of lacking? Have you been in need of a good quality bag for everyday? Basically just try to get an idea of what your wardrobe/beauty cabinet (yes, beauty is included in the sale!) needs, so you can have a rough game plan for shopping the sale. And I can’t emphasize this enough – stuff sells out SO FAST! So it definitely helps to go in prepared.
What I’m excited about + shopping from the sale this year
Every year during anniversary sale, I typically allow myself one “splurge” item. Last year, that item was my Longchamp tote and it was SUCH a good purchase that I use almost daily, and i got it for such a great discount! I also always get one or two new pair of jeans for fall. This year, I am excited about the AG denim included in the sale, as well as rag & bone and paige! Y’all know what a sucker I am for a good pair of denim. I’m also really excited about a lot of the fitness apparel I saw in the catalog this year, so I’ll for sure be featuring a lot of that on here as well! Every year I also stock up on great fall basics like sweaters and cardigans, so I’m excited to see what they have on the sale this year. This sale can be kind of overwhelming because there is SO much good stuff, it can be hard to sort through / narrow down. I am actually pre-shopping the sale on July 10th and will be trying EVERYTHING on + finding the best pieces from the sale FOR you guys!
