I recently shared on stories how my mom was taking a trip to Europe and asking for my advice on comfortable walking shoes. SO many of y’all have mentioned to me since then that you are heading to Italy in the fall or have a trip coming up where you’ll be walking alot…and asked for my advice on what shoes to wear! This can be so tricky because you need a shoe that looks cute with all of your vacation outfits, but a shoe that will also feel good for tons of walking, all day long. Michael and I have done our fair share of traveling, with a lot of heavy walking trips, and I’ve found a few pair of shoes I SWEAR by for these types of vacations. (I’ve also had a few that have destroyed my feet lol). So today I want to round up the best shoes to take with you on your next walking vacation, or if you have a job where you are on your feet all day and need to be comfortable.
Golden Goose Sneaker
I’ve done an entire blog post reviewing my golden goose sneakers (here), so if you’re curious about them, definitely check out that post. These would hands down be my #1 recommendation for a comfortable walking shoe for your next trip. They are SO comfortable and magically look cute with ANY outfit – whether you are wearing a dress or jeans! [I’m actually wearing them as I type this post haha]. I’ve had several days where I’ve worn these shoes ALL day long and walked a TON and my feet still felt amazing. They are EXPENSIVE. Like stupid expensive. But for me, they have been worth every penny and more. If you’ve been on the fence about splurging…I gotta say, they are worth it.
Adidas superstar sneaker + Adidas stan smith sneaker
These two adidas sneakers (the superstar and stan smith) are a much more budget-friendly option vs the golden goose and they are both VERY comfortable! Adidas sizing is weird though, so I would suggest going down a whole size! I love both of these tennis shoes, wore them in Italy, and my feet were very comfortable!
Vince slip-ons
I LOVE my platform Vince shoes so much. They are so comfortable and look cute with so many different outfits. These are great for long travel days where you are walking a lot. I wore these in London and Barcelona and was very happy with them. I will say, they are not AS comfortable as wearing a real sneaker…but if you are just walking a *moderate* amount on your trip (ie: less than 8hrs out of the day)…these will be great!
Nike Blaze sneaker
I LOVE these Nikes. I love how they look, I love how they fit, I love how they feel. They have a bit more of an “athletic” look to them vs the other shoes I shared, IMO. But they are super comfortable and a really great price!
There are two other great walking shoes that you won’t see pictured in this post [but they’re in the collage above!]. But I’ve tried these two shoes on and highly recommend them: these Cole Haan sneakers and Allbirds! Several of you guys DM’d me saying you swear by both of these shoes for a lot of walking.
Do you have any shoes you swear by for comfort + walking?! Let us know in the comments below!
