Being back in Texas, it has been such a blessing to be able to spend more time enjoying the summer weather with my siblings and parents! My family has a lake front property in east Texas and now that it’s warm out, all of us having been packing our bags on the weekends and bringing the kids there to create some lasting memories in our favorite lake house!
I know that many of ya’ll are also going to be packing for upcoming beach trips and lake weekends, so I wanted to share my lake trip packing list with you guys! These 15 items are the essentials that I never leave for the lake without. skincare products + SPF
I’m all about the “no-makeup” make-up look when I’m at the lake, but one thing I love to pack is a light and airy CC cream! This CC has been my go-to for a while and I love how it gives you a subtle tint and glow, without bogging down your skin.
Of course you can’t forget to pack SPF when you’re going to be laying in the sun all day, so I always bring along my Supergoop glow sunscreen (my daily face sunscreen) and my fav body sunscreen by Coola! They’re both super light and easy to rub on. I used to always forget to put sunscreen on my lips until I started using this lip treatment! I love this Sugar Tinted Lip Treatment so much and it gives your lips some SPF coverage and a little hint of color! My favorite shade is petal, but they’re all so pretty and hydrating.
bikinis, cover-ups + warm weather ensembles
Last week I shared with ya’ll some cute bikini options on a budget, and after I ordered swimsuits from Aerie I literally fell in love and ordered another one in this super cute white leopard print! I always try to pack a few bathing suit options so that I don’t have to wear a wet swimsuit or run too much laundry while I’m staying at the lake!
I also like to make sure to pack my duffle bag with some summer wardrobe staples that are easy to toss on and that you can wear again and again! These are my go-to denim shorts these days, I love the wash and the fit and they’re perfect to wear over a bikini! Crochet tops are also ideal for hot weather because they protect you from the sun but they’re also super breathable so you’re not sweaty and sticky!
This little cinched waist dress from Madewell is perfect for going out to dinner with the family or it’s easy to head down to the beach or pool!
totes, accessories + lake day essentials
Last but not least, you can’t forget your accessories and lake day essentials! I always pack a new book to read, when I’m not chasing Shiloh around of course, and a lake or beach day is not complete without something cold to sip on! I also never leave for the lake without packing my tote bag (and I love that this one is super easy to pack / doesn’t take up space!) with my favorite under $100 summer sunglasses, these waterproof sandals (under $50!) to wear when I’m getting in and out of the water, and a cute hat to protect my face from the sun!
