This past week I went on a girl’s trip to Cabo with my mom and sister Jill and had such an amazing + relaxing trip! We actually went back to one of mine and Michael’s all time favorite resorts that I’ve shared with you guys a few times already – Pueblo Bonito! I gotta say, even though I missed Michael and love going with him…this was maybe one of my favorite trips to Pueblo Bonito I have ever taken! We stayed at The Towers at Pacifica at Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Golf & Spa Resort.
I got some DM’s from you guys asking questions about the resort or what it was like during COVID, so today I’m going to recap my trip for you guys!
about pueblo bonito + how to get there
Pueblo Bonito has several different resorts in Cabo. We stayed at The Towers at Pacifica at Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Golf & Spa Resort. Pueblo Bonito Pacifica is an adults only, luxury all inclusive resort, right on the beach. All inclusive basically means that the price you are paying covers stay, amenities, food and everything else you get to enjoy while you are there! Pueblo Bonito is one of my all time favorite all inclusive resorts in Mexico. It’s honestly a very romantic resort and somewhere Michael and I love going for anniversary trips. This was the first time I’d ever been for a girls trip but it was actually amazing for a girls trip as well! We had such a blast, and such a relaxing trip all at the same time. So, I honestly recommend it for either kind of trip!
To get to The Towers at Pacifica at Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Golf & Spa Resort, you fly into San Jose Del Cabo and then it’s about a 45 minute drive to the resort. A lot of you guys asked me if I felt safe in Cabo and we felt very safe! We had a private shuttle take us from the airport to the resort, and then we never left the resort! I know there are a lot of fun things to do in Cabo but we felt safest on a girls trip just staying at the resort, so we didn’t venture out!
covid precautions
I know a lot of people are wondering, “how to travel during covid? is it safe? where can you go? etc” and I want to answer those questions to make it a simpler thought process!
My sister, mom and I all made sure we were not showing any symptoms leading up to our departure date. When you get to the resort, before you check in, you go through a COVID screening [you also do this at the airport]. They take your temperature, you walk through a sanitizing station, and they remind you about mask rules at the resort. Throughout our stay at Pueblo Bonito, we felt really safe and appreciated all of the precautions they had in place. You have to reserve the gym ahead of time to ensure social distancing, everything was extremely clean + sanitized, all staff & guests wearing masks, etc. Because of COVID, only two of their restaurants at Pacifica were open which at first i was bummed by…but the food our entire trip was SO delicious that we honestly had zero complaints about that! I would definitely recommend staying at this all inclusive resort during covid.
Before flying back to the U.S. you have to show proof of a negative covid test within the last 3 days. So Pueblo Bonito has covid testing on site. We all got a negative COVID test before flying home!
the food
Food at all-inclusive resorts can get a bad rap but the food at Pueblo Bonito is honestly one of the reasons we love this resort so much. Pueblo Bonito Resort has some of the best all inclusive food, in my opinion. It is all very high quality, fresh, creative, authentic, and so yummy. We had breakfast each day at Siempre. I tried something different on the menu almost everyday and loved every single thing I tried! We had lunch everyday on the beach in our cabana bed – chicken nachos, fish tacos, shrimp ceviche, al pastor wrap…I could go on haha and everyday it was SO delicious! We thought about branching out to go to a restaurant for lunch but we loved our lunches on the beach too much to even branch out!
The first night at Pueblo Bonito Resort we had dinner at Peninsula (which, is one of two restaurants open at Pacifica right now, but it’s always been my favorite restaurant at the resort). Their seafood is so good and always tastes so fresh and full of flavor! The second night we had dinner at La Frida, which is the Mexican restaurant at their sister resort [Sunset]. We all agreed this was our favorite dinner of the entire trip! It was also such a beautiful setting, sitting high up on a hill overlooking the ocean. Pueblo Bonito All Inclusive Resort takes care of your transfers going from one resort to the other, and the drive was only about 5 minutes or less. My mom got pork belly, jill got a barbacoa, and I got the seafood dish which was heavenly, and we all tried their Mexican coffee for dessert which was my favorite drink of the whole trip!
The third night we did the Peninsula’s Baja Farm experience on the beach which was SUCH a cool experience! The chef prepared a 5 course dinner for us, and we did it with a wine pairing and loved learning about + tasting the Mexican wines! Everything we had had ingredients from Pueblo Bonito’s gardens and tasted so fresh + full of flavor. This was a really special (and yummy) experience I will never forget!
The last night we had dinner ath the steakhouse at Quivira – which is another sister property that they transferred us to (again, probably a 5 minute drive). This is always one of mine and Michael’s favorite nights at Pueblo Bonito because they dinner is amazing, the atmosphere is so romantic, and the sunset on the beach is so beautiful! We all got petite filets for our main course, loved our apps, and loved the desserts a little too much haha. If you go to Pueblo Bonito, highlyyyy recommend doing the steakhouse one night!
the service
The service at The Towers at Pacifica at Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Golf & Spa Resort is one of the main reasons Michael and I keep going back to this resort. When you stay at The Towers, you get your own private butler who takes care of everything you need and more during your stay! I texted Gabriel throughout our entire stay and it was so helpful – asked him about making our gym reservations, sending coffee to the room, our transportation, and more. He was alway so kind and helpful and quick to respond! He reserved a bali bed on the beach for us everyday (which was amazing) and really went above and beyond to make our trip as special and relaxing as possible! This is one of the great perks of booking an all inclusive.
All of the restaurant staff is always so kind and friendly and I honestly can’t even think of how their service could possibly improve! They are quick and professional, but again so personable and friendly at the same tine! They are great at accommodating any dietary needs if you have any, and truly exceeded my expectations with their service [and food] at every single meal!
From the moment you check in at The Towers at Pacifica at Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Golf & Spa Resort, their staff really does treat you like royalty and does everything they can to make your stay as special and comfortable as possible!
a few extras
- I LOVE the spa at Pueblo Bonito so much! My mom, sister and I all got a 50 minute massage and it was heavenly. Their facilities are so nice and you can go beforehand to use the steam room, hot tub, cold plunge pool, relax etc!
- It’s honestly tough to decide at Pueblo Bonito if you want to spend the day at the ocean or the pool haha because the cabana beds on the beach are amazing, but the pool at Pueblo Bonito is also stunning and you can get amazing service there! The cabana beds are extra (if you aren’t staying in the towers) but obviously anyone can use the pool and it will not disappoint!
- You actually can’t get in the ocean at Pueblo Bonito / this location in Cabo! You can go for walks on the beach but the current is way too strong to get in. We went for a walk almost everyday and saw SO MANY WHALES throughout our entire trip just from the shore! I love the beach / ocean in Cabo. The water color is so pretty, the waves are huge and beautiful to look at…so I don’t really mind that you can’t get in the ocean!
I think I about covered our entire trip! But let me know if you have any questions in the comments below! Obviously, considering this was my 4th time at Pueblo Bonito haha I cannot recommend it enough! If you end up booking a trip or taking a vacation here, make sure to tag me on IG so I can see (slash live vicariously through your trip)!
