At the start of the new year, I slightly refreshed my workout shoe collection. A few of my running shoes had a few too many miles on them, and then there were other workout shoes I’d been wanting to try out and review for you guys. After trying out several new styles…I now I have my favorite workout shoes DOWN, and I want to share them with you guys today. I will be rounding up a little workout shoe review including shoes for all the different types of activity: running, strength training, everyday casual, orangetheory, where to buy them, why they work for me and more!
A lot of people see the price of high quality workout shoes or running shoes and might be a little intimidated by the cost, but I can guarantee that when you invest in a good pair of running shoes you will be able to feel a difference! Most of these shoes can transition from working out, to running to heavy lifting and more.
my latest workout shoe favorite
First I want to talk about the On Cloudswift sneakers I’m wearing in these photos! I feel like I was so #influenced to buy these sneakers because I see them EVERYWHERE! At orangetheory, the gym, out and about…so I decided to try them out and see what the hype was about. [I already had and love the On Cloud X sneakers so I figured thee had to be good too]. I think I like these even more than my cloud X sneakers (which is saying alot!). They are so cushy and comfortable but still really lightweight (and don’t give TOO much support).
I actually wear my Cloudswift sneakers for SO many different types of workouts which is very convenient. I’ve worn these to orangetheory, for strength training / bootcamp / Madeline Moves workouts…going for walks with the fam etc. They have a sock-like fit, and IMO run a tad small. So if you’re in between sizes, go up a half size. But…I legit give these sneakers a 9/10. They are so comfortable and great for lots of different types of workouts. [I personally wouldn’t run long distances in them, but I think they’re great for 1-4 mile runs].

A few of my fave workout shoes IRL
ON Cloudstratus Running Shoe
Shared these On Cloudstratus shoes in the graphic above! I LOVE how these look and they are great for long distance running! Prior to these, I rarely strayed from my new balance sneakers for runs that were 6 miles or longer. But these are definitely a new favorite distance running shoe for me! The don’t sleep on your heels which is also a huge bonus.
APL Techloom Pro Sneakers
I love how APL’s look! I don’t wear them for running, but they are great for everyday life / errands / going for walks and I’ve also worn them for strength-training workouts!
New Balance 1080v10 Running Shoe
These are probably my number one favorite shoe for long distance running right now. [Close tie with the cloudstratus above, and I also like Brooks]. But, these New Balances are what I trained for my marathon in…and still probably what I grab if I’m going out for a run that’s longer than 6 miles. They are springy and supportive and cushiony and so comfortable! They would be a great option for running with shin splints to give your shins that extra stability, or if you have high arches!
Adidas NMD 1 + 2
The Adidas NMD is the workout sneaker I cannot stop buying when they come out with new colors haha. I LOVE how these look with leggings and joggers. They are so comfortable and I think the perfect shoe for everyday athleisure outfits. I don’t personally workout in mine but if you’re wanting an athletic shoe for just running errands, going for walks, etc that also look SO cute…these are my fave. They do run big though so I suggest going down half a size!
