lately on my stories i’ve been sharing a lot of the books i’m reading or listening to so i thought it might be helpful for you guys if i shared all of that in one place! i’ve read a ton of good books lately and also started listening to a few new podcasts i want to share with y’all today!
let’s start with podcasts! here are a few i have on regular rotation – most of these i’ve been listening to for forever but a few of these are new!
- the skinny confidential him & her show – been listening to for years & years. one of my faves
- pursuit of wellness by mari Llewelyn – i like this podcast because mari has a lot of interesting guests in there in the health + wellness space but it’s not like SO sciencey that it’s over my head. i feel like i’ve learned a lot from the guests she had in the show – from talking about hormone health, sleep, nutrition and more. i also just really like mari and think she seems so kind and genuine!
- the toast – an oldie but goodie haha. most of the podcasts i listen to are very sciencey or self-help related so every now and then, i like one that’s just kind of mindless and funny and these two sisters crack me up.
- the blonde files – i started following arielle lorre a little while ago bc i liked her beauty content! she has really interesting guests on her show talking about all things related to health and wellness but also beauty / skincare, mental health and more! i’ve learned so much in these areas through listening to her show!
- wellness her way – i absolutely LOVE following gracie norton so i was really excited when she started a podcast! this is another one that’s very wellness focused but in an approachable, real life kind of way. i love her personality and perspective and have really enjoyed the guests she’s had on the show so far. AND i actually went to florida last week to be interviewed for her podcast! i can’t wait to share with y’all once it comes out.
okay, i could go on haha i’m always listening to podcasts – but those are 5 that i for sure have on regular rotation!
you can heal your life – by louise hay
i’ve actually already read this book twice haha but every time i do i get something new out of it or learn something new. i just downloaded it on audible and listening to a chapter a day is always so good for me! such a great reminder about the power of my thoughts, living in alignment with my best self, positive affirmations and more. if you feel like you’re in a season where you could use healing or change or growth in some way…i think this book is so helpful and inspiring!
greenlights – by matthew mcconaughey
this is another book i listened to on audible after hearing such amazing things and it did not disappoint! i loved listening to it on my longer runs on the weekends and it made the time go by so fast! matthew mcconaughey is such an incredible narrator and his story was SO interesting! there was a ton of hype behind this book and tbh i really think its worth all the hype. but i definitely recommend listening to it vs reading!
unfiltered: living raw, reel + redeemed – by jesus by cleere cherry reaves
this is a new devotional by cleere that i have been LOVING! each day starts with a passage of scripture, and then cleere shares her wisdom and insight into how we can apply that to our lives. then there’s a short section with personal reflection questions, and it ends with a prayer. it’s not super time consuming (you could do one day in 10 or 15 minutes if you wanted to), but i love that it gets you in the word and helps you apply it to your daily life and personal relationship with the Lord. it’s about coming to the Lord as your real, raw, unfiltered self and letting HIM love, lead, and guide you!
none of this is true – by lisa jewell
this is a fiction book i recently finished and LOVED! i really like mystery / suspense / thriller type of books (but not too scary haha) and this one had me HOOKED from the start! the storyline is super interesting and unique and i thought the ending even was pretty unpredictable!
behind close doors – by B.A. paris
another fiction book i just finished, still in the suspense / mystery category. but not gonna lie this one definitely felt a little more dark just to warn you! it’s one you really won’t want to put down because it’s pretty suspenseful. even though it was dark i felt like the ending really redeemed that. i will say it felt a little bit predictable to be, so it wasn’t like my favorite fiction book of all time but definitely entertaining and worth a read if you’re into suspense / thriller type of books!
how to do the work – by dr. nicole lepera
on a totally different note haha i finally finished this book that i started a few months ago! this book is all about how to heal yourself from the inside out – chatting through mental health, physical wellness, relationships, and more. and how to daily do the work to live life as the BEST, freest version of yourself. how to work through trauma. find healing from old patterns or behaviors that no longer serve you. and so much more! i love the psychologist who wrote this because she has such a holistic approach to psychology, incorporating mind body and spirit. this isn’t a book you’ll necessarily just fly threw as it has homework and basic daily applications but i thought it was really insightful and helpful!
have you read anything lately that just rocked your world?! either fiction or self help? comment below because i’m always adding new books to my list! thanks for reading!
