landon is 7 weeks old now and we are very much still in that hazy, blissful, sleepy newborn bubble. this season of life really is so special (as hard as it can be) because you never really get this time back. it’s such a unique window of time where you’re home more, shower less, breastfeed 24/7, cry when you least expect it lol…there really is nothing like those early post partum days!

i’ve been way less active on social media since landon has been born and it’s felt really good to take a step back. but today i thought i’d update you guys on things i’ve been loving, using, watching, reading etc in this post partum period! including what’s been helpful for me, shows i’m liking, quick skincare, and more.

what i’ve been watching

i wanted a show to watch while i’m pumping or nursing landon every 2-3hrs. something kinda mindless, that i could watch without michael haha. i’ve been meaning to watch virgin river for years now, but anytime i look into it i think it looks too cheesy for me lol. but honestly…that’s exactly what i’m wanting in this season of life! i’ve been flying through virgin river and actually really like it! it’s kind of just easy, happy, feel good…nothing that’s gonna require me to utilize too many brain cells while i’m sleep deprived haha.

 what i’m listening to

if you don’t know this already, i am a podcast junkie. i have a podcast playing pretty much 24/7 haha. i’m not necessarily listening to any new ones post partum but some that i’m loving right now: the mel robbins podcast, the goal digger podcast, transform…

i’m really enjoying podcasts right now that inspire me to be my best, as cheesy as that sounds. not necessarily about how much protein i should eat in a day or the benefits of HIIT lol, but one of the reasons i like the mel robbins podcast is because she’ll do episodes on how to plan out your week successfully, or tips on getting organized etc. same with jenna kutcher (goal digger podcast) – i feel like she shares helpful parenting tips or business ideas or morning routine ideas. so, i’ve been enjoying just happy, helpful, not too sciencey podcasts in this season!

other than podcasts – i’ve loved having worship music playing as much as possible! really helps calm me down, and feel so grateful in this season. reminds me of how faithful God has been to give us THREE babies now! i still can’t believe it.

i’ve also been listening to alot of activations – from the app called activations haha. it’s similar to meditation but more like…action driven? so you can listen to them if you’re sitting and meditating, or getting ready for the day, or winding down at night, cleaning, going for a walk etc! i’ve been listening to an activation in the morning either when i’m going for a walk, or sitting in the cold plunge! just helps me feel excited and motivated for the day ahead, to show up as my best self.

what i’m loving

okay rapid fire with a few things i’m loving in this post partum season:

  • kreatures of habit oats – i discovered this brand on a podcast and omg this has become my new favorite breakfast. it’s SO easy, they taste delicious, and have 30g of protein in them!! (bonus – oats can also help boost milk supply).
  • my morning skincare routine – there’s something about doing my skincare routine in the morning – after a sleepless night, that just makes me feel like ‘okay. i can do this. i can take on the day’. most days i don’t put makeup on but i love mixing this tinted spf with these bronzing drops for a little bit of coverage, a dewy glow, and of course – sun protection!
  • this pumping bra from amazon! we are still in the ‘triple feed’ situation with landon (where i’m pumping like…8x a day), so a good pumping bra has been essential. this one is super comfortable and allows me to pump hands free.

just gonna go ahead and apologize for all of the typos or poor writing in this blog post haha i truly think you lose more & more brain cells with every pregnancy! but…just wanted to share a few things that i’m loving + grateful for in this hazy, sleepy, blissful newborn season!
