In case you haven’t noticed from the people around you, Facebook, or Instagram…tis the season, to get engaged! It’s so crazy to me to think back to our engagement (2 and a half-ish years ago!) and remember what an exciting time it was of planning, growing, learning, and wedding registry! Registering is seriously one of the funnest parts about being engaged, but can be slightly overwhelming, so I’m sharing a few tips and tricks with ya’ll today!
When in doubt, stick with neutral. When Michael and I first registered, I picked out these purple and gold dishes and thought they would be so fun. A few days later I was questioning this decision and thought I might get tired of them, so we went with white dishes and I’m so glad! Macy’s actually has a whole section of white dinnerware on their wedding registry which I’m obsessed with. I absolutely love our white dishes. Plus, you can mix and match them with so many different dish sets for different occasions. I’ll never get tired of them!
We also went the neutral route with our bedding which was a great decision for us! I feel like my style/taste is constantly changing, so going with a neutral duvet and white bedding underneath has been perfect. (If you like neutral, you might also like this and this neutral bedspread!)
Don’t forget about serving ware! Our Wilton Armetale serving ware is one of my favorite things from our wedding registry. It looks super fancy but the price point is very reasonable. I use it anytime we host parties or get togethers and always get complements on it! Also, it makes me feel so grown up! (This is the Belle Mont pattern).
Register for china. Just do it. I know china might seem like a thing of the past, and as a young 20-something you’re thinking “I’ll never use that and don’t want to add it to my wedding registry,” but you WILL use it at some point! My mom and mother-in-law both assured me that one day I would want and need china, and wouldn’t want to have go to spend the money on 8-12 sets of china! We registered for this Kate Spade china set and I love it, and can’t wait to use it!
Last but not least, don’t forget the fun stuff!
Thank you to Macy’s for sponsoring this post.
