3 years ago today, Michael and I said ‘I do’ to each other! I can’t believe it, because these past 3 years have absolutely FLOWN by! In 3 years, we’ve bought a house, traveled to Italy (and so many other places), seen 4 of my other siblings get married, became an aunt and uncle to our adorable nieces and nephews, moved to Colorado, and so much more.
Since we got married before I ever started blogging, today I wanted to share some photos from our wedding with y’all! Also wanted y’all to be able to hear from Michael as well – so we’re both going to share 1 favorite thing about the other person!
One of my favorite parts about our wedding – Michael and I did not see each other before the ceremony…but we exchanged letters around this door and held hands, and prayed together. Such a sweet moment
Lauren’s favorite thing about Michael
Obviously, picking the one thing I love most about Michael is tough. And honestly, my answer has probably changed (and will continue to change) through different season of our marriage. But if I had to pick…I would say my favorite thing about Michael is how selfless he is. The way Michael selflessly loves and serves his friends, family, and me is such an amazing and inspiring thing to get to witness day in and day out.
we were both total basket cases when I came down the aisle, clearly!
Ephesians 5:25 says “For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her.” And I can honestly say Michael has never ceased to demonstrate this kind of love for me. He truly does put me before himself in all things. This plays itself out in so many ways in our relationship – he listens to me so well and so intently, always does the dishes, prays for me, always gets me pretzel m&m’s on road trips, rarely lets me drive on road trips, always gives me the better seat on the airplane, carries my bags…I could go on. He truly is such a servant – not only in our marriage, but in all of his relationships. For that reason and so many more, I truly feel so humbled and so blessed to get to call him my husband
Michael’s favorite thing about Lauren
It’s not really fair to have to pick out one favorite thing about Lauren. In fact that’s impossible; she’s the love of my life. There is no one thing. There are many different qualities and quirks that I adore in her. So here’s my loop-hole answer:
I love how passionate she is. It’s an amazing quality to get to experience first-hand and also observe. She is passionate about
Her passion for the Lord is sweet, humbling, and inspiring. It is the most important quality for both her individually and for me/us as a couple. We consistently pray that this platform she has been given will be used to present the Gospel of Jesus and further God’s kingdom. I LOVE seeing and reading her posts on what scripture she’s reading currently and how God is speaking to her and specific moments in life.
She’s passionate for her family and friends. I’ve never seen someone that gives so much time, energy, and emotion to their family and friends. She’s a daughter to two amazing parents, a sister to five other siblings, a wife to the luckiest guy alive, and a friend to many. It would be easy to give her time and emotions to just a few people, but she seems to be the glue that holds everything together. I honestly have no idea how she can be so emotionally invested into so many different peoples’ lives. She just loves people well.
Her passion for the blog and for all of you is very inspiring too. She will never boast in this, but she works EXTREMELY hard for this blog and her social channels. She sets an example for me in her hard work and dedication. If there was ever a girl boss, this woman is it! Yes it’s her job, but I truly believe she loves getting to interact and help the women that follow her. Every day she tells me of encouraging things y’all tell her. So from someone who loves her very much, thank you for the support and love that you give her. It means a lot to both of us.
