hey y’all! I’ve posted about a few books recently on snapchat (laurenkay2) and instagram stories that I’m loving…and a few of y’all have messaged me asking for the titles again. so, today i thought i’d share a recap of some of my summer book recommendations!PIN IT
for fiction books, i’ve recently read big little lies by liane moriarty, as well as what alice forgot (by the same author). LOVED both of these books! between the two, what alice forgot was definitely my favorite. (i won’t give you a synopsis of the books because I’m really bad at that lol I always give away the ending. plus you can read the descriptions where I linked them above!) but I highly recommend both of these for a good fiction read! liane moriarty is an amazing author – these books had me laughing and crying throughout every page.PIN IT
next on my list for fiction books…my sister Jill recommended defending jacob which looks really interesting! and then since I love liane moriarty so much, I definitely want to read another one of her really well-known books: the husband’s secret! she also just released a new book called truly madly guilty that I want to read!PIN IT
for christian books, I’ve been going through the Bible study called Finding I Am by Lysa Terkeurst and absolutely loving it. Each day probably takes me 20-30 minutes, but it has encouraged my heart in so many ways and helped me get into the Word daily. the Bible study is all about how Jesus really is the only person who can truly satisfy the deepest cries of our hearts. it’s definitely one of my favorite bible studies I’ve ever done.PIN IT
i also just finished reading Uninvited by Lysa Terkeurst and cannot recommend this book enough. It’s about living loved when you feel less than, lonely, or left out. this book is about helping you to find your true security and identity in Christ alone, and not in what other people say or think about you.PIN IT

i’ve already posted about this book before, but i’m actually reading present over perfect by shauna niequist for a second time! this book has so much truth and encouragement packed into it, that i need a second go around (and maybe a third!) to let it all sink in. this book is about leaving behind a busy and frantic way of life, and choosing a more restful, soulful way of living. this book is about living a life of meaning and connection, instead of pushing for perfection.
do you have any favorite books you’ve read recently? i seriously LOVE book recommendations, so comment below with some of your favorites! happy friday!!
xo Lauren
