Hey y’all! It’s been a while since I shared my makeup routine with y’all…so I thought I’d share what my everyday makeup routine is (by ‘everyday’, I mean like twice a week when I actually do my makeup, just to be clear lol), and some of my favorite makeup products!
Step 1: Primer
I’ve tried alot of primers y’all and TBH, I’d say I couldn’t tell that 90% of them made any difference whatsoever. BUT I’ve found 3 primers that I absolutely love, and now, never do my makeup without them! All 3 of these primers make your makeup go on so much smoother, and make it last 5x longer!
THIS ‘wonderglow’ product isn’t technically a primer, I don’t think. But I wear it under my foundation because it gives you the prettiest glow! It also has collagen-boosting peptides and patented wrinkle-reducing ingredients (and y’all know how much I love collagen!).
If I don’t use ‘wonderglow’, I will either use this smashbox primer or this hourglass veil mineral primer. I love the smashbox primer because it truly smoothes your skin and blurs flaws! The hourglass veil mineral primer is probably my favorite out of all 3 because I think it’s the most effective. It conceals redness, minimizes pores AND has spf in it. Okay, onto step 2 haha I promise I won’t go into this much detail about each product! But I think a good primer can make or break your makeup routine!
Step 2: Concealer
I put this concealer under my eyes and on any blemishes or redness. I’ve used this concealer for years now and it is my absolute favorite. It has full coverage and it’s waterproof! I wear the color ‘medium’.
Step 3: Foundation
I feel like I’ve tried a million foundations and still keep coming back to this one. It has great coverage, but still looks natural and lasts all day! I put on my foundation with this beauty blender.
When I’m traveling, I use this CC cream as my foundation because it has SPF 50 in it! I also love this CC cream for days when I’m just running errands and don’t really want a full face of makeup. It has good coverage but also feels like just wearing a moisturizer!
Step 4: Highlight + Contour
This is the newest product I’ve added to my makeup routine and I’m obsessed! I love that it has a bronzer and highlight all in one and the colors are perfect. I apply the bronzer around my hairline and just below my cheekbone, and then I apply the highlight to my cheek bone, bridge of my nose, and sweep it to just above the bridge of my nose and slightly over my brows. I originally got this bronze & glow set for travel because the size is great, but ended up adding it to my everyday makeup routine because I loved it so much!
Step 5: Blush
I’ve worn NARS blush for years now and will never go back! I used to always wear it in the ‘orgasm’ color but recently switched to ‘deep throat’ and love that as well. I like deep throat because you don’t have to apply that much for it to show up!
Step 6: Eyeshadow
I never do anything super fancy with my eyeshadow, but my two favorite palettes are this one by Urban Decay and this one by Stila. The colors in these palettes are amazing, and they also last FORever. I probably buy a new one of these palettes maybe once or twice a year!
Step 7: Eyeliner
I’m not sure why, maybe it’s the shape of my eyes, but I’ve always only been able to wear liquid eyeliner. All other kinds of eyeliner ALWAYS smear on me and create raccoon eyes. I also love liquid eyeliner because it stays on all day. This is hands down my favorite liquid eyeliner – it stays on all day and it’s super easy to put on! So I’ll put this on my top eyelid, and if I’m goin real cray with my makeup, I’ll also put it on the bottom as well. But that’s rare.
Step 8: Mascara
Since I have lash extensions, I never wear mascara on my upper lashes. I will sometimes put this L’Oreal mascara on my lower lashes though and I love it – and it’s only $10! I used this mascara before lash extensions too and loved it. (See my full post about lash extensions here)
Step 9: Finishing powder
I’ve used this ‘flawless finish’ powder for years now and swear by it! It gives you the perfect ‘airbrush’ look and sets your makeup. I wear it in the color ‘medium’.
The last step is obviously lips! See this post I did for my fave fall lip colors.
Like I mentioned above, I for sure don’t do every one of these steps everytime I do my makeup haha. But just thought I’d share what my full out makeup routine looks like! My fast version of makeup routine involves primer, concealer, CC cream, and this bronzer shimmer brick!
