BABY ON BOARD!!

We’re pregnant!!!!

I cannot even tell you how thrilled I am to type those words, finally! This has by far been the hardest secret of my life to keep and I am so excited to finally share with you guys today! We are expecting baby Sims to arrive in November 2018 and are feeling over the moon and so blessed to be experiencing this life-changing miracle.

So as of today I am a little over 13 weeks pregnant. We figured out really early on (I think I was about 5 weeks!), so keeping this a secret from y’all for 8 weeks has been tough! At the same time though, it’s been really sweet to just celebrate this pregnancy and this baby with Michael, and very close friends and family that we told our secret to.

This is obviously our first baby (Michael and I have been married for 4 years), so I’ve had no clue what to expect with pregnancy. Thus far (knock on wood) things have been great! I didn’t really experience any nausea, I’ve still been able to run and workout (don’t worry! I’ve talked with my doctor about pregnancy-safe workouts), and overall have honestly felt pretty good! I’ve definitely been more tired than usual…but we were also buying a house, moving, traveling, and in a crazy busy work season all in my first trimester haha. So I think I would have been tired regardless! Cravings haven’t been super strong yet but…diet lemonade from Chick-fil-a has been my go-to for a few weeks, and my sweets craving has only intensified lol so that’s wonderful! I’ve read food aversions and cravings start to get stronger around this time so we’ll see!

We’ve had two doctor’s appointments so far – 8 weeks and 12 weeks. At 12 weeks we got to hear baby’s heartbeat and it was the most beautiful thing I’ve ever heard. I can’t believe that so much is going on inside my body and at this point, I don’t really feel a thing! To most outsiders, you’d probably say I’m not really showing yet. I’ve heard it’s common to not really show until 15ish weeks, so we’ll see! I can definitely tell a difference in my body though (there’s for sure a bump there in my eyes but not entirely sure if it’s baby or bloat haha). But, I’ll let you guys be the judge as I post more pics in Hawaii now, not trying to conceal the bump!

I have so much to tell you guys as far as things I’ve learned so far – about skincare and working out and nutrition and fear and trust and the power of prayer. But I will save those things for later posts. Today I just wanted to make the big announcement about our sweet baby coming in November. God has been so good to us throughout our whole lives, but I’ve gotta say…this miracle of pregnancy truly is the sweetest gift from God I have ever experienced.

So, what does baby mean for the blog? Don’t worry! I will continue my posts as usual – about fashion and fitness, skincare, faith, beauty products, home, travel, etc! And down the road I will definitely gauge interest from you guys to see what kind of pregnancy / baby posts you’d want to see.
