Garden of the Gods Resort Review

Last weekend, Michael and I spent two nights nights at one of our favorite Colorado Springs resorts: Garden of the Gods resort and had such a great time! Y’all might remember the review of the resort I did last year, so this year I was really excited we were invited to come back to try out their new “strong like a mother” package [in conjunction with their Strata Integrated Wellness Spa] which aims to properly take care of the pre, post or currently pregnant bodies!

So, today I will be reviewing both the resort itself, and this new aspect of the resort which makes it perfect for a babymoon destination (or post baby weekend getaway!).

We absolutely love the spacious rooms at GOG Club & Resort. It doesn’t at all feel like a crowded hotel room, but truly feels like a home away from home! There’s a fireplace in the room (it gets a little chilly at night!), a huge bathroom with two vanities, and [as you can see above] an absolutely stunning view!

We ate dinner both nights in the two restaurant’s at the resort. It was so convenient to be able to just stay in one place, and enjoy the gorgeous views you can see above! The weather was perfect for outdoor dinners and the atmosphere in these restaurants is intimate, upscale, and romantic. Our dinners both nights were fantastic. GOG Resort does not cut corners when it comes to the meals at their restaurants! We both loved everything we ate here!

We also had breakfast here throughout the weekend (also pictured above) and loved everything we ordered. Their menu has everything from fresh + healthy options like green smoothies, quinoa & oats, omelets…to the more indulgent foods like nutella stuffed french toast! (YES it’s as good as it sounds!)

Now, let’s talk about the SPA at Garden of the Gods resort! We have had the privilege of visiting a lot of different resorts and trying out a lot of different spas…and I can honestly say this one stands out among the rest. This spa just has SO much to offer. This snippet from their website summarizes what I mean perfectly: “Strata Integrated Wellness Spa offers a fully integrative approach to whole life health that is multi-layered and all-encompassing. Through a dynamic combination of advanced clinical practices, naturopathy, nutrition, spa treatments, fitness and other bespoke wellness services, we guide our guests through a personalized process to restore alignment at every level, enriching human spirit by nature.”

So we did two different spa treatments while we were there. One couples massage (mine was a prenatal massage) and then I also got a facial. Since I’m pregnant, I couldn’t really enjoy the steam room or sauna…but pictured above you will see the Himalayan salt room which I actually loved even more than a steam room! I sat in here for a while before we got our massages.

My prenatal massage was so relaxing and so comfortable! Michael enjoyed his massage as well and we both felt so relaxed afterwards.

Probably my favorite part of our spa experience though was my facial. TBH, I don’t get regular facials because they kind of freak me out. Will I break out afterwards? What kind of products are they going to use on my face? Will my face be red and flaky for days? But THIS my friends, was a facial experience like I have never had before!

Rebecca did my facial and she’s a Biologique Reserche esthetician, and also the spa director at GOG Club & Resort. My appointment was 2hrs long which, going into it, kind of terrified me haha I thought I would get so bored and antsy. But this appointment was SO helpful, informative, and relaxing. We talked for a long time about my skin, my lifestyle, routine, etc, before she ever did the facial.

It was the most amazing facial I’ve ever had and my skin looked and felt SO amazing afterwards. (Not to mention I also learned a ton about skincare and my specific skin problems during this time). Prior to this facial, I wasn’t familiar with BR products and now I’m pretty obsessed with them and have been doing a lot of research on the line. I’ll report back soon after I try the line out a little bit longer but I highly recommend looking into it / looking into getting a facial with Rebecca at the GOG Resort Spa if you can!

In addition to massages and facials, the “Strong Like a Mother” package includes so many different health + wellness sessions geared towards mommas or mommas-to-be! A few of those sessions include: balance & fitness coaching, mindful session & energy work, one hour nutrition session, along with tons of other options in order to help moms look and feel their absolute best.

So, if you’re looking for the perfect babymoon destination or a place to come and truly pamper yourself pre/post baby, Garden of the Gods resort is a great option! We loved our stay there and enjoyed every aspect of the resort – from the food to the spa to the location, and can’t wait to come back and visit soon!
