To be totally honest, I can’t remember the last time I went into Sephora and didn’t try out a new lipstick (or 10). Even if I’m just making a quick Sephora run to restock essentials, I always end up swatching a few lipsticks and finding new faves! It’s one of those products in my beauty routine that I tend to change up more than like, my mascara or foundation. With the Sephora Holiday Bonus Event going on now (more details at the end of the post), I thought it would be the perfect time to share my latest obsession: the new Givenchy Le Rouge lipsticks!
I feel like there are so many lipsticks out there that have proven to be disappointing. The colors either don’t flatter you, the formula is too drying or you find yourself having to reapply every single hour (and ain’t nobody got time for that!). That’s really why I had to share these ones with y’all. This way, hopefully I’m doing a lot of the research for you and you can confidently purchase these knowing they’re really amazing quality + colors!
Givenchy recently released a new line of lipstick finishes for their Le Rouge lipsticks: the Classic finish, Deep Velvet finish, and Night Noir finish. Each finish brings its own unique qualities to the table, but my personal fave has been the Deep Velvet finish. This is the one in the red velvet case. It’s got more of a matte look to it, but it feels AMAZING on your lips! It isn’t drying or heavy at all. I can honestly say the color lasts all day long, too, which is a major perk in my book. The Deep Velvet finish is more pigmented than some of the others, making it the perfect statement lip for the holidays and any fun festivities you have coming up. The colors aren’t overwhelming or super unnatural looking though, so you can definitely rock it as an everyday lip color too. Also, I didn’t know this until recently, but the formula of the Deep Velvet finish also contains mango butter, which explains why it applies so smoothly and comfortably.
Truly though, I’ve loved all fo the Le Rouge lipsticks I’ve tried. For the Classic finish, I feel like it’s the new and improved version of a traditional lipstick. It comes in a sleek, genuine leather case. It’s semi matte/semi satin, and it glides on SO smoothly. I also love that it contains hyaluronic acid, which majorly hydrates your lips and just makes the lipstick feel so luxurious. Honestly, this is the lipstick you can give every girl on your list this holiday season and they will LOVE it. It just works so well on everyone! Now the Night Noir finish can either be worn as a top layer over other lipsticks or it can be worn alone. It definitely adds just the right amount of sheen + sparkle to your lips and it’s fun way to change up the look of other fave lipsticks. I also love the black + red sparkling case of this one! I love this one for more of a causal every day, quick application when you want a little something on your lips, but want to keep it nice and easy!
