michael and i bought a lakehouse almost a year ago and it truly is my happy place. i’ve shared lots of sneak peeks + glimpses on stories and anytime i do…i am flooded with DM’s about the decor / asking for links etc! so today i want to share my favorite spaces in the house with you guys + talk about working with urbanology designs to truly make this home our dream space!
working with urbanology
i started following urbanology on instagram several years ago and fell in love with their style + unique aesthetic. from their website: “Urbanology Designs brings you a one-of-a-kind way of living in and experiencing your home.” they are an interior design company based in the dfw area but work with clients all over the country. when we bought our lakehouse, it was a dream of mine to have them decorate / furnish the main spaces of the home because i knew they could do something SO SPECIAL with it, and they did not disappoint!
the process
once we decided to hire urbanology for the living room, office / lounge, and our master bedroom…i went on a pinning FRENZY. i made a few pinterest boards to really give them an idea of my vision for the spaces, my taste, likes / dislikes etc, and then shared these boards with them as well as my thinking + vision behind it. since the house is not in dallas, we also sent urbanology the floorpan / tons of photos of the house so they could have all the accurate measurements!
from there, urbanology put together a presentation of my DREAMS with what they had picked out for each spaces. we went to their offices (at the urban firehouse, which, in and of itself is just a design dream!) where they presented all of their selects + vision to us. the meeting was also completely with the most beautiful charcuterie board which just gives you an idea that they truly do go above and beyond in everything they do + always putting personal touches on things!
so i almost cried in the presentation meeting haha. everything they selected for our home was SO beautiful, so in line with my vision for the home, but also SO unique and like nothing i could have put together myself! we made a few small tweaks here and there but overall i absolutely loved what they picked out and was SO excited to see it all come together.
once everything was ordered and delivered, urbanology came out to install + style each of the rooms. they spent 2 full days out here installing + styling everything, moving things around, adding their personal touches to truly make the spaces feel so homey, elevated, and beautiful.
the first time michael and i came out here after they had installed everything…our jaws were on the floor! truly felt like such a dream!

the living room
our living room is MASSIVE so i was at a total loss when it came to how to decorate + furnish this space and was so thankful to have urbanology’s help here. we also have a HUGE family + host a lot out here so we knew we needed a lot of seating.
this sectional is probably my favorite piece of furniture i have ever purchased, in my life. it seats SO many people, looks kind of modern but still feels INSANELY cozy at the same time. most of the seats actually recline as well so it’s perfect for family movie nights. i love that this space feels modern and elevated but still cozy and homey at the same time!

okay not gonna lie, my office is my absolute favorite space in this house. the desk + chair that urbanology picked out…I DIE OVER every time i see it! like i wish this was my office at home haha because it makes me SO HAPPY. i use this room for working, shooting content, and also my morning quiet time + meditation. it’s so peaceful and just feels like ME. i truly think urbanology encapsulated my vision + style SO perfectly with this space and every single time i walk into this room i just…swoon.
this brass arched mirror is such a beautiful statement piece in the room. i love how wide it is and i think the arch on it makes it feel really unique!
on the OTHER side of this room is what we call the lounge. so, half of the room is my office and the other half is a lounge, with a fireplace!
this curved boucle sofa is so cozy and so unique! we use this space for reading by the fire or to just sit around with friends + family to chat while we drink our coffee/chai in the mornings!
our bedroom
our bedroom here at the lakehouse is another that i wish i could just take home with me haha. i LOVE our bed from lulu & georgia so much. it feels modern but still soft and i also love that it’s so different than what you typically see in a master bedroom like a canopy bed.
also love this gorgeous painting urbanology selected to go above our bed. it’s still a neutral color palette but also adds some color to the room and i love how huge it is because the wall where it’s hanging is massive.

i am so so thankful we had the opportunity to work with urbanology designs to make this lakehouse truly feel like a DREAM every single time we walk in. if you’re looking for an insanely talented + creative team of designers, i cannot recommend working with them enough! and again, urbanology works with clients all over the country! they really do go above and beyond, and hiring them is such an amazing investment when you just SWOON every single day at the spaces you live in that they decorated.
