Michael and I moved from Dallas to Boulder, CO almost a year ago now and one of the biggest changes was the weather for SURE. We went from super hot and humid, to pretty cold and SO dry. Being major fitness lovers, Michael and I had to learn how to dress for this cold weather and have found some amazing pieces that are major winter running essentials for us! (Any of these items would also be great gift ideas for him or her and can still arrive by Christmas Eve if you order today!)
Whenever I’m shopping for outdoor / fitness things for Michael (or if he’s shopping for himself!) Nordstrom is always our go-to for activewear! I love that they carry all of our favorite brands, and have options for your man whether he is a runner, or loves crossfit, or just loves being outdoors. Nordstrom has everything from cold weather running essentials to athletic loungewar (my personal favorite)!
Alot of people are afraid of running in the cold or absolutely dread it. I used to be that way until we moved to CO, and I realized it’s just about having the right gear! So, I’m going to share some of my winter running essentials with y’all today and promise running in the cold isn’t as scary as you think it is!
When it comes to winter running essentials for myself, I love this Nike pullover. I often will wear it over a tank top when I’m running outside and love how breathable, yet warm it is at the same time. I’m also obsessed with these grey leggings, both for cold weather running, or really any workout! You can also wear them for cycling (or spin classes) but are comfortable enough for everyday loungewear. They are super warm, really flattering, and definitely one of my winter running essentials (and they’re only $69!)
Another key to running in the cold is having your ears and hands covered. Here are my favorite ear warmers / gloves for running:
Side note: how manly does Michael look in this woodpile?! Haha I think he looks so rugged! ANYway. Michael loves this long sleeve tee for cold weather runs or as a base layer underneath his jacket when we ski / snowboard! It’s only $35 and would make an awesome Christmas gift for your man. This vest is also perfect for running in the cold because it keeps your core warm without making you too hot. (Another really good gift idea for under $100!)

LAST brilliant gift idea for him or her for today…we are both obsessed with these nike sneakers! (Here are the women’s, and here are the men’s). They are super comfortable and I think look so slick with any fitness or athleisure outfit. For women, make sure you order half a size down. For men, order one size up! Adidas sizing can be so tricky, but the shoes really are amazing! I’ve barely taken mine off since we got them a few weeks ago.
Thanks for reading y’all! Hope these winter running essentials encourage you to bundle up and get moving!
