tips for making healthier choices throughout the day

Hey guys! Recently I’ve been getting so many questions about diet, what I eat, and healthy snack/meal suggestions. So, today I thought I’d share with y’all some tips for making healthy choices throughout the day. Since I work from home, it can be so tempting to just grab a handful of m&ms or a cookie when I’m feeling hungry (or let’s be honest, when I’m procrastinating). But I’m learning that if I fuel my body properly, with adequate protein and other superfoods, I can really tame my ferocious sweet cravings!

Something that will help you avoid constant snacking on junk food throughout the day is starting the day with a nutritious and filling breakfast. I love making a protein shake in the morning with Vega chocolate protein. 1 scoop has 170 calories, but 20 grams of plant-based protein, and tastes like a chocolate shake! I typically make mine with almond milk, almond butter, banana, and chia seeds! There are so many health benefits to chia seeds. They’re a great source of Omega 3-6 essentials, great for cardiovascular health, and have been known as a top food for weight loss. Chia seeds will also help you feel fuller for much longer!

Another tip for making healthy choices throughout the day is having healthy snack options ready to go. If you are busy working throughout the day and don’t have time to make something, or if you’re running out the door to pick up kids from school…it can be so easy to grab a bag of chips or just whatever is easiest. So, I love the vega snack bar or the protein shake to go for when I’m running out the door or super busy that day! Having enough protein in your diet is key for staying full and not giving into junk food cravings! Both of these options are packed with plant based protein and fiber – meaning they will fill you up and also give you lots of energy for your busy day!

Another easy way to get your fruits and veggies in (which will help curb sweet cravings, aid in digestion, and give you glowing skin) is with this juice cleanse kit! I am personally not a fan of “juice cleanses” per se, BUT…I drink these juices individually just to help me get my fruits and veggies in when I’m on the go! In a perfect world I would be making salads from scratch everyday and cutting up fresh fruit, but for when that’s not an option…these juices are a great way to get those nutrients in. These 6 different juices are packed with fruits, veggies, vitamins, nutrients, and fiber to help detox your system and fuel you with the nutrients your body needs!

Wal-mart has recently become a website that I could spend hours on searching through all of their different health and wellness products. They have so many options, including some of my tried and true favorites like the Vega protein…but also new things I’ve loved trying like the juice cleanse kit! And did you know they have tons of options that you can get 2-day shipping on?! I am ALL about that.
